Aside from that, I wouldn't be able to offer any help :P I did order the Tekno hexes with my kit though...

Ugh. I prob just lost at least $70  on this by not checking Tower first.

Ah well, I was able to get a few odds n ends spares though, and it doesn't appear Tower has any in stock or if so are harder to find. Speaking of spares...anyone know anywhere that has arms in stock? Might not be needed, but I'd really like to get a set just to be safe. :)

If that is the case then the widest part of the vehicle will be the axle and after puting these SC104x4 aluminum hexes on, the axle was flush with the wheel nut so I think they will be ok.

The lower the resistance the higher the discharge.

A high resistance battery is like hooking up a garden hose up to a fire hydrant and a low resistance battery is like hooking the fire hose up to the fire hydrant.

Essentially the power will be there when you need it on low IR batteries.

Low IR tend to last longer, because they will handle more abuse in charging and discharging.

How to tell the IR of battery?

You need an IR meter, some newer chargers come with them built in now so you can check the status of your packs (FMA Power Labs 8).
EG.. if your packs are 1.2 and 1.4 IR when you first start charging, then a month later you see the same pack at 1.3 and 2.7, you will know you have a bad cell in cell 2. 10% is the normal variation on cell IR, anything over 10% and there is more than likely a problem.

until i get one.....i run thunder power batterys. are they known for having good IR and holding it? is 1.2-1.4 range a good starting point for reference?

Almost done with my build. But regarding the hexes, there is nothing wrong with the stock plastic hexes. It just seemed a shame not having some nice aluminum hexes on this sweet truck. I tried the AE SC10 4x4 hexes and they are 2.5mm too thick, the axle pin slot is deeper which causes a bind when the wheel is tightened down unless you shave a lot of material from the back side. I found that the STRC Losi SCTE hexes are almost the same thickness as the stockers and the pin is almost the same as well. The only issue is the axle hole on the STRC hexes are 5mm and the Tekno SCT410 uses a 6mm axle. I happened to have a 6mm drill and just drilled out the hexes. They fit pretty good, but I think there was a bit too much slop so I added a few 6mm spacers between the hex and the bearing to properly shim the hex.

The STRC hexes are almost the same thickness as the stockers (0.1mm thicker). You do have to drill the axle hole out (from 5mm to 6mm).

Parma Speedflow or FTW?

Speedflow has TONS of airflow cutouts, probably the most configurable body I have seen yet.

I set my steering up. Seems to work well but there is a huge difference in my EPA's left to right. Is that normal?

IMO... FTW.

Best venting I have experienced, doesn't look like much but it works better than the JC high flow that I usually use.

I keep that for the mains, no shoe goo.

Chop top look is also a plus for me.

yes, it's a 4000. i'm running a 16T on a small indoor track (that doesn't really have a straight away). MORE than enough. haven't run it outdoor yet, so i don't know.

Your servo isn't centered right. If your trim is off quite a bit, one side will need more steering throw than the other, explains why one endpoint is more than the other side. Also make sure both steering turnbuckles are the same length.

Btw parma speedflow works well but is a little too fragile for my tastes. After a night of the cleanest driving i've ever done, i somehow manged to crack 3 fenders, and the whole front part of the body.

Hi Matt, do you use the blue inserts that come with the ion?
