as i can always return, other options that i am considering are the Novak Active8/Ballistic 4.5T 550 motor combo or the Tekin RX8/Pro4 combo.

Driver ability notwithstanding, am I going to be vastly outclassed in terms of startup power/torque/response compared the sensored Novak or Tekin combos? Or will have have to issues with high motor temps? (running 2S 70C SMC lipos, 13t or 16t pinions to swap)
The sensorless system will no be as smooth as a sensored system....but it should be ok...If you want a great economic system go with the hobbywing SCTpro and the 4700 combo...Tons of torque and lots of speed with a 15t pinion....

This comdo will work fine in the sct410. I don't know if your new to racing or not but if you are you may get to a point where this system is not up to par with the other systems. I swear by novak and use a activ8 and 4.5t 550 and would not change it for anyone. I would go for a sensored setup over that viper system but it will be fine if you decide to keep it. If you decide to return it and get the novak system I will be more then happy to help you set it up.

Id like to hear a little discussion of the handleing characteristics and differences attributed to the different shock builds.

What are the differences in handleing between the standard, vented, or emulsion shock builds?

Is there a difference in shock maintenance between them?

Are the different shock builds better for different track types?

Lastly, are there any handling issues that can help be "fixed" by using a different shock build?

Thanks guys! Great forum!

No, I ran my SCT410 on 2s only. I was a big fan of the pro4 HD 4300.

After trying out the Lighter buggy chassis on this truck it kinda felt like i put both center and rear braces back on the stock chassis. Goin backwards so i switched em back. Much better.... Running AE Silver springs, 8.13 pistons both ends
37.5 fr 32.5 rr.. But thinking about going up to 35 in rr, short wheelbase
Everything else box stock

It seems like it goes one way or the other with this truck. You either make minor tweaks to the stock setup, or you make major changes to the entire setup.

Yep, egobrkr's setup works very well for me!
I believe that driving style has a whole lot to do with the way people set up their cars as well as other peoples set ups working well or not. Some people drive clean and steady others are heavy on the throttle and all over the lane.

What you are saying is very true some setups work better for different people simply because of their style of driving.
How ever driving clean and heavy throttle and all over the place have nothing to do with driving style, but def- driving skill or lack there of LOL Cheers!

I'm interested in this as well. Considering switching to 4S (mostly about managing batteries), and either the T8i 1950 (274g) or the Pro4HD 1850 (221g) look like they might work with a TP3850 4s (407g). Close enough I think to my current setup a Pro4HD 4300 (221g) and SMC 7200 (334g).

So u like the stock chassis over the light one? I'm running a track similar to yours and I have the light chassis, have had it since the beginning. Was there that much of a difference? Is anyone else running the light chassis and likes it?
