I ran the 80C IPs the other day and they're fine. Combined with the HW 4700 4 pole and SCT Pro, temps were surprisingly cool with a 15T.

I just ordered the 8200 50C soft pack from SPC Racing to try out. $44 is not too shabby for extra capacity and very little weight increase.

Brilliant! That looks like it will get the needed length out of the front bumper at a cost of $0.00

Considering running my SCT410 on 3s with the Tekin Pro4HD 3000kv. Will gear to around 38 mph. Was hoping for more efficient and cooler electronics. Any thoughts on that?

Also, what is the largest physical dimensions for a battery to fit in the battery tray?

As long as the tracks you frequent are ok with it, that would be optimum. That gets you to about the same rpm as a 2s with a 4000+ kv motor.

That's the same tray as the 1/8 buggy so you can fit any 3s hard case lipo that you want especially if you haven't cut the straps that it came with.
SMC makes a 3s pack in a 2s case that's just a hair heavier than a 2s pack. That's the route I would take but there are plenty of other 3s to pick from.

The tray is limited to ~138mm long. Depending on width may get close to center diff outdrive at full length. The buggy body imposes height limits the truck doesn't have. Weight is probably biggest deal. I'd guess 3-400g is a good range for Tekin setup. Servo and RX weight matter of course.

Plus 1 for SCT410 on 3s. Temps are a non event and power for days.

I think they are made in Taiwan, the plastics coming out of China are not as good.

Anyone ever put this truck fully loaded on scales to check for weight distribution? I'm just wondering if the battery tray mod helps to even it out both front and back, and side to side or if it kinda throws the weight more towards the left rear?

[QUOTE=JRapid;12728585]Here's a little thing I did to help make the bumper a little longer. I used 2 pieces of fuel tubing about 1cm long and just put it inside the bumper screw hole. What kind of body do you run? Is this enough to put the bumper in front of the body?

This is the pack that I run and its a standard 2s pack coming in at 139mm long with plenty of room left to spare (same as everyone else using a hard case). Height 25mm. Weight 319g.
http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=115

This 3s in a 2s case has the the same dimensions and is 6g heavier from memory (weights been removed from site).
http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=181

This layout was designed around a heavier lipo so I would think a little more weight would benefit the balance.
