This is the car I bought. I didnt even check any of the specs on it and just gave it a run to see how it did from how the person had it set up.

Also looking at the ad it looks like he was really trying to lighten the truck as much as possible. I'm not sure how much weight difference there is but the way this truck reacts to tuning changes I would think that a significant weight change would change the charecteristics of the truck a lot. Maybe try reaching out to the guy you bought it from since he built it he would be the one to know the tendencies of his own creation. I couldn't really give you much not knowing the truck and it being so heavily modified. I would reach out to him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind talking shop with you too much. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

Anyone used both an RX8 G2 and VTX8 on this truck? How do they compare durability-wise?

Also, the VTX8 looks a bit bigger than the RX8 how well does it fit in the SCT410?

Looks like a solid truck. So when you jump your front end lifts so much it's making you crash on the landings, that's a new one for me a bunch of guys are fighting the nose diving thing.

Yeah, if I go to try to clear a double or triple the car would sometimes end up getting just about completely vertical.

May make some changes to put some weight back into the front end and see how it goes from there.

First run tonight with the BCE chassied sct410, and real happy with everything. The extra flex helps settle the car down faster and plant the rear end. Total settup is not quite completely dialed yet, but it's getting there ;)

I run a rx8 gen 2 in my SCT410 and a VTX8 in my EB48. The VTX8 has a snug fit I have very very minimal room to mount the tekin 1900. As far as running goes, they both run very well. In my honest opinion the VTX8 has a bit smoother bottom end. That's the only difference I can tell between the both.

How are both holding up in terms of durability? I'm assuming it should be less of a worry in 4x4 SCT since it does not put as much of a strain on the esc.

That sounds like something worth trying. sounds like its parachuting real bad on the larger jumps like you said if its practically vertical.

@ Jeremy, is there any chance that the front wheels are not rolling properly? Like maybe one of the diffs is hanging up or maybe dry of fluid? Also have you tried a different body or opening up some vent holes?

The servo is also a little too big for the servo box, its a real tight fit and bows out the sides of the box, so just gonna go with a diff servo. I refuse to use the wire extensions lol I'm weird like that.

:weird:

You may also want to try some softer springs all around. Those Kyosho Orange springs look pretty stiff. Also see if you can try another body, sounds like you're catching alot of air in the front end lifting it up off the jump. Are there any vents at all in the body?

XRated SCT 10-19-2013 11:30 PM

8x1.3 pistons and rear green springs didn't make it in today, I left stock front oil 450cst "ae 37.5" and black springs, 2bumpstops, full rebound non-vented bladder...changed rear to ae 27.5, full rebound non vented bladder with 2bumstops and stock pink springs, nose dive is gone, truck feels a lot better just time for fine tuning, might go to ae 35 up front

I've ordered some Lunsford 5x55mm amd 5x60mm turnbuckles for my sct410 without measuring thickness of the stock ones. Will they fit the stock rod ends or I need to do an exchange?

I've ordered an aluminum front center shaft also but it's bent out of the bag, is it prone to bending? If so I may not bother getting it replaced as everybody knows how much abuse a package goes through in transit especially for overseas ordere

if the dif was hanging up that would be noticeable when just driving on the ground right? it has no issues driving and turning.

body that was on it seemed pretty well vented. ill try my losi body on it and see how that changes

honda237 10-20-2013 04:31 AM

So getting an order around, which springs would you run if you ran on med grip dirt track, rough but technical with larger jumps?
I will be using tekno 8x1.3.
