Xray XB4 thread

Just got on the XB4 train. Picked up a mint XB4 '18. Love the car. Setup for carpet.
Paint is my own design and painted by Jockeli Painting in Sweden - Jockeli Painting
I then picked up a bargain basement XB4 '17 that looked a bit worse for wear. I got it for about $100 and was mainly interested in it for spares. So when it arrived I stripped it down and rebuilt everything and it was in pretty good condition bar 3 crunchy bearings, missing rear ARB assembly (picked one up for $6 on ebay) and a slightly wobbly rear driveshaft ($4 on ebay again). Now the car is perfect(ish) and good to take on astro.

Any recommendations for chassis protectors?

Will the 23 chassis fit on the 22?

Part numbers are different between 22 and 23 chassis. Looking on their website the mounting holes for the center diff are different between the two years. You might be able to use the 23 chassis but would need to understand the impact to the center drive shaft lengths.
Thanks I’ll look into it

Hi all, I normally run 2WD but have an XB4 2020 carpet edition that'll be getting its first outing next weekend, other than wishbones and there any other recommended spares to carry?
Also I've got a 6.5 motor to put in the car, what kind of pinion range should I be looking at for a large carpet track.
Lastly - and recommended upgrades worth considering or should be considered essential?
Many thanks!

Just out of curiosity: why do you keep asking the same question for so many cars? And why always (just) without battery? There are so many more variables that influence total weight of a car that is ready to be run: the choice of servo, motor, ESC, length and thickness of your wiring, receiver, rims, tires, inserts, wing, amount of paint and decals you put on the body... so there could be serious differences, even leaving the battery out. With all these as variables, you will never end up being able to truly compare the weights of different cars (and we haven't even touched tuning parts, or screws yet) or even the same car, built and operated by different people. So what are you looking for here?
