My rear diff is clicking after 1 race day. It doesn't feel loose like it needs a shim so should I loosen the slipper a little more or shim it super tight.

Chances are your slipper was already too tight and you've chipped a tooth.

I have not found the need to shim my diffs - Xray tolerances are very good.

1) Pull your diff.
2) Inspect the pinion gear - the one on the center shaft. Be prepared to replace it.
3) Check the ring gear on the diff.
4) Open your diff up and examine the gears. Check the spider gears for chipped teeth.

It's gotta be somewhere!

I already replaced the ring and pinion. The pinion had 2 teeth that were rounded off. Just trying to figure out if that's cause the slipper is to tight or it needs a shim.

The slipper setting in the 2014 book is wrong, the slipper should be between 5.7-6.3mm. Granted I don't run on high bite track but I've yet to have an issue with any of the drivetrain on the xb4.

I never shimmed but haven't killed any bevel gears since I've been adjusting the slipper when I race at other tracks.

Before I was chewing up about 1 a month

I personally have been using (2x1.5/ 2x1.1) up front and the (2x1.6/ 2x1.1) in the rear. For shock oils have been 37.5wt up front with 30wt rear, and adjusting oils depending on heat and traction levels.
