And just for you guys (I always like pics of the cars  ) some final pics before pulling the electronics- I thought it was one of my best wiring jobs on this car to date! Looks clean, no where near the driveshaft, easy slipper access, etc.

new to the associated family. will 22-4 wheels and tires work on the b44.2? or is the offset way off? please advise. thanks.

The fronts won't work. The b44 uses a 9.5mm hex that nobody else uses. The rears, however, are the same 12mm hex almost everyone uses, including the 22.

Thanks bud, appreciate the info.

Got to run the car with a front sway bar (black) today.

Really surprise me how it performed.

Thought it would smooth out the steering a little.

Not..lol

Instead it brought more tip end & over all steering.

So not gona be using as I do not need more steering .

Does anyone make a front 12 mm hex for this car??? I'm sick of buying AE specific rims.

nEoNidas 06-06-2014 01:59 PM

point in the right direction

could you guys point me in the direction of what durango diffs to get, and what other parts i will need to make the modification for the steel diffs. seems to be a worthy upgrade, unless you guys can talk me out of it.

Short answer: No. If you are looking to get front wheels that will work across a variety of vehicles, it doesn't really work because each vehicle has a different offset rim. There are many brands that make rims to fit the front of the B44. AKA, Jconcepts, Proline, DE racing, and Associated to name a few.

You want to get the gear diffs for a dex410. You will also need to get a machined pinion gear and proper bearings to fit the diff cases. Bugle boy is an option, or TSchulz3 on here. (I got mine from him). It will probably cost $100 for the machined parts, diffs are $40 apiece. It's pricey, but soo worth it!

My car is dialed with ball diff's....

Wild Cherry 06-07-2014 09:32 AM

Who needs a gear diff ?

Sounds like a expensive mistake to me..:ha:

Not sure how they would fit... But the new HotBodies D413 uses 12mm hubs on the front. (they are also able to use a 9.5mm hex that is included in the kit also so the b44 guys can switch and not worry about pitching good tires because of the new kit.)

The hex has a 5mm inside diameter, and is designed to ride on the inner race of the bearing.

Just thought I'd share if it can help~
