Looks to make sense.

Slick/dusty track application should have smooth/linear steering with the shock laid down on the tower along with the yellow spring.

short camberlinks make the car very responsive, in long sweep corners and high grip it's to twitchy, for that it's better to lengthen the camberlinks or remove shim under the ballstud.
Ackerman, i think it has more influence to the speed of cornering, (correct me if i wrong), low grip conditions more ackerman, more forgivin. less ackerman (forword possition) more responsive and more mid and exit cornering.

Not sure if he is running the AVID chassis, but he's running their slipper.

Seems like he was searching for rear grip. Kit A arms as well, that's probably due to the cold. The hard A arms snap like twigs in the cold.

I am wishing for Ae affordable gear diffs!

Wildcat1971 01-20-2014 08:08 PM

well the fact the team drivers are using gear diff, is a good sign. it normally means AE will make one

Good point

Just installed the RPM Front A arms and RPM front bumper. All I could say is that it looks really good! The a arms a really have a tight fit and has to be broken in by hand. Other than that they are pretty stiff. Hopefully they will loosen up after time. Has anyone had any issues with installing these? Any tips on freeing up some movement in the arms?

Wildcat1971 01-21-2014 03:36 AM

I have 1 weekend on mine. I plan to recheck them after 1-2 more weekends to see if the loosen

My son wants an e-buggy, so I'm selling his B44.1 with AVID chassis and original .1 chassis, big bores, lots of spares, lots of tires, etc. Hit me up if any of you are interested!

Thinking of getting one of these and wondering if the castle 5700kv combo would work well fro this?? Also what oz. Servo do you guys recommend? ? Don't feel like reading a hundred plus pages so any help would be appreciated:nod:

fq06 01-22-2014 06:42 AM

For servo I would say 150 in/oz at a minimum. I use the XP DS1015 and it fits very well. Had a savox TG servo in there and it required a little modification on the servo mount but I think most other servos would fit fine. For the price though I think the DS servo is the best deal.

Castle is not really a race setup, as long as the combo that you were referencing is a 540 can it will work but a Tekin RSX combo with a 6.5t through 8.5t (how fast do you want it?) would be better... or choose whatever race ESC is your favorite.

He was using a short metal chassis. Same length as the 44.1.

Couple AE guys at my track are running a short alum chassis as well.

All you can do at this point is shorten the wheelbase by grinding down the rear arms and putting a 2-2.5mm spacer behind it.
