If you are looking for an avid chassis, emailed them last week and was told they were behind because of the holidays. They were hoping to have them in a week or two. We wanted one for my sons buggy as he is racing next week at Reedy so I ended up buying another b44.2 with the avid chassis! Switched the chassis last weekend and it was night and day better.

Cool. Just did the same.

My rpm arms will be in tonight. I am fully expecting them to bind up a little, because RPM products have been binding up for the past 20+ years, lol. I am hoping some light sanding will make the free. I will try to remember to weight them also, as I expect them to weight more.

I was planning to do the o-ring mod on the front hinge pin brace tonight. As I understand it I would remove 0.070" off the forward portion of the center and add an o-ring to dampen impacts. Is this worth doing?

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the new rpm arms wildcat.

If your just bashing a big cow plow bumper will help more for max protection. If you race ? Use the new HARD front arms from Ae for best performance. They are stiffer and will offer smoother & more predicable steering. |

The HARD fronts are a blessing, they perform better then even the standard plastic B44 arms.
guessing the rpm will be very flexible . Will only add more steering which the B 44 has plenty of already.. |

WC I am only racing and am using the new Hard arms. I guess I will leave it as is then.

the hard arms are more brittle than normal, so they will snap easier upon impact. the harder the arm, the less of an impact they can sustain. everything has a trade-off.

TLR arms are a completely different design...apples to oranges.
since the hard arms and regular arms are exactly the same design, different materials are the only way to make them "harder" or "softer". when you make them harder by using a different material, it becomes more brittle. Again, trade-offs. I would agree with you if the hard arms were a different design, but they aren't. Now the RPM arms on the other hand, may in fact be just as "stiff" as the stockers, (or they could be even worse lol) while being made from a more flexible material....because they are designed differently than the stock arms. the fact of the matter is the poor design of the AE arms is why they break, regardless of what the arm is made out of. Hence why RPM went with a different design. |
