3 seasons on a 44, and I've never seen that.

This is not a good sign. Sure, I know...it's from hard belly-flop landings. But, I'm positive that it's caused from a weakness in the chassis from routing it out, along with a very tight motor clearance that allows rocks to be wedged between the thinner carbon chassis and motor can.

I imagine AE knows about it; just wondering if I'm alone, or if this is the price of doin' business?

Not a big deal and I have NEVER seen that. I'd say you're definitely casing some serious jumps.

Really? Interesting since I'm running a Sanwa 94770 in my 44.2 and a Futaba 9452 in my XB4 with 127 and 150 in respectively. Both were servos recommend by the pros at two different LHS. And, yes, they had other servos. ;-)

So, what should I be looking for, if these are under powered?

You ever "walk" your car off a pipe during practice? Do you run your servo saver basically locked? If the answer to those is no then you're perfectly fine.

Why are 8th scale guys running high voltage servos with crazy torque numbers when less has worked before? This is no different, you could put in a s148 and drive the car. I simply posted what I prefer, which is at least 200 oz., along with a .10 or faster transit speed. And personally a transit speed of .10 or faster as well.

Hey I have this feeling I installed my ball diffs backwards into the case. From the manual it looks like you would adjust the rear diff from the right side of the car and adjust the front diff from the left side. Is this correct? I know on my 2wd buggy I adjust the diff from the left side which I would think would be the same as the rear diff on the b44.2 and that would make it so that the front diff would be adjust on the right side. I know the manual shows a few steps incorrectly so I just want to make sure I put them in correctly. Thanks for the help.

b44 series..rear diff bolt is on the right, front is on the left. It's not even possible to screw that up, based on diff and case design.

The fact that the diff bolt in your b4 is on the left side could actually be considered "wrong".. even though it doesn't really matter..20+ years ago AE told us to put the diff bolt on the slipper/right side, so that's how I've done it ever since.

Anyone got a part number for a spring kit for the 44.2?

To be honest if you're just racing on dirt you'll end up with extra springs you won't use by buying the kits or you'll get doubles of the ones that come with the car.
I'd just get

Yellow front
Green rear
Black rear

I have seen it on 2 of my 44s. It's more common then people think. If everyone looks really close you might be surprised how many have small cracks or dents under their motor. It's no big deal. Remember the old car had a hole below it.

Don't sweat it. Unless your spring is just ancient It would next to impossible for it to unscrew because it's on the wrong side.

Thanks for the help! I can now drive confidently
