Currently, I am getting it quoted. My estimation is around $40 +/- 10%. The price varies depending on quantity. That's why I am asking who's interested.

Cool design but, though I know that's a killer epoxy, I'd think a two piece design with a 7075 aluminum pad could be nearly as light, cheaper to make and maybe even stronger especially if some of the bonds turned out to be less than perfect.

I am sorry, but I have to disagree. Weight wise, 7075 aluminum version weighs 33.5 grams (without screws holding together); CF version weighs 23.9 grams. Cost wise, I did quote for both versions and the CF version is actually less expensive than the aluminum version without anodizing. Strength wise, the epoxy is a overkill and is actually used for airplanes, a five-minute epoxy from Home Depot is sufficient for this application.

Here is a cross section of the proposed CF RM rear shock tower. I understand that its difficult to see, but the vertical piece is actually inserted into the horizontal piece when bonded. This structure with the two ribs on the side will be sufficient to withstand a lot of impact. Especially when the shock tower is connected to the rear gearbox.

If it were to distort upon an impact, the distortion point would be where the shock is mounting to the tower. CF have a tendency to bounce back as where once aluminum bends, it's bent.

Plastic composite is as light (with glass fill), is just slightly weaker than cf, does not bend, does not delaminate like raw cf sheets and is cheaper and available from kyosho. Why upgrade the factory part except for bling?

I am however partial to cf chassis. It does allow a lot more tuning with the weave/thickness chosen. The onroad TC guys get all the good stuff. With aluminum its a lot more labour intensive with milling pockets out etc.

I went with the LF springs from TLR. I think $50 and you get 4 pairs of fronts and 5 pairs of rears. Cheaper and the LF springs are similar to the kyosho springs.

Have you tried different pistons or oil weights? I don't think it's money wasted, bottom line,Kyosho parts are expensive. I think we all can agree on that.

QIMB528, no disrespect meant and I assumed you'd keyed the tower to the base, the ribs too? I wasn't clear either in that I was referring to a CF tower w/7075 base. Not a criticism just an opinion. As I said before, cool part.

Default New to Kyosho

I just picked up an MP9 and I am thinking about an RB6. Do you suggest buying a new kit or a used one on here? I have also heard that I should wait two months for the new Worlds kit coming out, and I have heard that the difference in cars is not much. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If you find a good deal on a used car, snatch it up,they're out there. Either way,new or used, the car is bad ass.

And don't think I've heard anything on a Worlds car coming out in a couple months. Only thing I have heard is maybe a ZX6 around August.

And while I'm on here, what does turning the steering rack around with the arrow back do? Saw it on Cody Kings worlds setup.

Yep always run it that way. Smoothens the steering all through the corner entry, mid and exit. Kinda like more toe out front without scrubbing straightline speed. The kit way makes it a bit darty so end up loosing some speed mid corner trying to correct.
