Stock tires size with the Prolines. The black bolt slide cleaning under the XB2. The other bolt is the lowest point at rear.

Tires on your X-Ray look to be exactly what I run on my RB-6.. and mine is damn low. There is also no preload on my shocks Currently, 42.5wt front, 35.5wt rear. I believe I have the red stripe XGS springs all around. I'd have to look at it as it's been some time... Lol.

Yes, the RB6.6 RTR version comes set up for dirt, hence the 4-gear transmission and taller ride height. But with a few adjustments you can bring it down to 16mm which is what a lot of folks run on high grip carpet.

How so? I moved the shocks to the lowest points. But only dropped a little. Buggys are still mostly new for me.

You have a lot of preload on your shocks to start. Turn the adjusters so they are all the way at the top of the shock, near the cap. From there, you can try the shortest shock bottoms then internal limiters if needed. Adjusting shock lengths are big. On the front, you can run RB7 gull arms and that will get you lower ride height while still having good geometry.
Check out Petite for RB6.6 and RB7 setups. The cars are so close that you will benefit from setups for either. Like mentioned above, you have a 4 gear stand up trans which is more for dirt. Putting a laydown 3-gear will be a huge change for carpet/turf. Also in almost all cases you should run a gear diff on carpet/turf.

I did order the RB7 arms.
Preload comes from running, well jumping a lot on pavement. I’ll start with that. I’m planning/considering try a race Saturday. I’ll use the XB but have the Kyosho as backup.

Just remember, preload does not effect spring rate, just ride height and weight transfer. If you're mainly doing a lot of jumping, go up to the stiffest spring you can (orange I think if you want to stick with Xgear) and heavy oil.

I’ve been looking for springs. But seem to only find the ones for the upgraded aluminum ones.
Hopefuly, I can get a few laps this weekend with it. Have feeling that time will be a factor Saturday. But see what happens.

I'm pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong, I recall reading in this thread about people using AE springs on the Kyosho shocks. The X-Gear springs are super nice, but costly. I'm pretty sure the RTR shocks are plastic versions of the kit units.. again, I may be incorrect, but my buddies RTR Ultima shocks look to be the same size as the set mine came with.
Billy, how do the two cars compare quality wise? I've held one X-ray in my hands and it was a mere shadow of it's former self... Essentially run into the ground needing many replacement parts due to excessive wear. I'm just curious..

XRays all feel the same to me. I’m more familiar with touring cars. I got mine used. Other then the rear wing damaged, I can’t tell how much it had been previously used. I don’t know what an abused one would feel like. Carpet seems like might be bit easier on wear compared to clay. But my exposure to off racing is very limited.
The Kyosho feels like all my other Kyosho. All have been RTR, 1/7 ScorpionXXL to half dozen miniZ. I’ve not been around a Kyosho kit yet.

The simplest way to lower ride height are:
1) Turn the shock collar all the way to the top (or close to it)
2) Turn the shock-end eyelets in, de facto making the shock shaft shorter
