If it works. I've talked myself out of a second RB6.6 a few times.

Default STREET STOCK DIRT OVAL

My son gave me an RB6 that I converted to a Street Stock dirt oval car. It is now rear motor powered left turn only racer. Other than changing it from mid to rear motor, a few camber changes, and mounting a body it is just as my son ran it in modified buggy classes two years ago ( he ran shorty battery I use a stick battery).. Track rules state a 13.5T motor and a Blinky ESC. I bought a Tekin 13.5T Spec motor with Yellow (torque) rotor. My question is about gearing. I searched this thread and found people were using 76/29 gears several years ago in an RB6/6.6. Is that still a good starting point?

They come with the stand up 3-gear correct? Only asking since I'm rebuilding a used RT-6 I picked up here in the marketplace. Pretty sure I have the MM 3 gear left over from my 6.6 kit to use. Might even see me ask questions here instead of the RT6 thread since it's dead. Lol.

I believe the 3 gear is correct. I’m still learning the different configurations on buggys. They were rear motor when had last 1/10 buggy.

Same. Last competition level buggy I had was a B4 Stealth and a Losi XXCR. Sold both since I never used them,a I didn't know much or anything about racing. I just thought that's the way buggies where. Then I saw and drove my buddies B5M.. went out and found the RB on sale at AMain. Lol.

I have the 6.6 readyset and my buggy goes straight from forward to reverse with seemingly no brakes in between. Is something set up wrong or is this just how the esc operates? I moved the jumper so I have reverse because I'm still learning and definitely need it. Lol Would I have to connect all 3 prongs to get brakes in this setup? I'm kind of at a loss on this because I can't find any info that specifically addresses this anywhere.

There should be a separation. Mine don’t have good brakes. But it does not go straight to reverse.

Actually think mines is in forward only mode currently. I’ll check tonight

I don't have that ESC in mine but my ESC will do that if I'm in a certain drive mode. Check you ESC directions (I know men don't read instructions). I use a drive mode where there is a delay between the brake and going into reverse. so after going forward the ESC first goes to brake then a pause at neutral then it goes to reverse. While racing events don't allow reverse, I always seemed to crash in practice at the furthest corners of the track so having a functioning reverse saved me many long walks .

I got two RB6s from my son and converted one to rear motor. The rear motor gear box has 3 gears; the mid motor box has 4 - both very smooth. I can see why Kyosho got so many outstanding reviews for these buggies. Sure the heck better than my AE buggies. .

😂😂 I swear I read as much as my manual had to offer about it. I'm pretty sure it only mentioned moving the jumper between forward and brake and forward and reverse, but I'll check again. My stock Rb6 readyset pauses and you have to "double tap" brakes to go into reverse, which I like.

This is a long shot, bit make sure your throttle trim is set neutral. I've had car where the this is set slightly to the reverse side and had the same issue.

Does anybody know off the top of their head how many teeth I need for a replacement servo horn and how long? I don't really want to change the throw that much as the steering is already a little touchy for me as it is, even with the saver on there.

Oh and I don't have any good way of measuring or counting teeth without pulling it apart. It's the Rb6.6 readyset in case whoever reads this wasn't following my earlier inquiries. Thanks in advance for any help.
