Default Is my slash now a competitive racer?

Hi, well yesterday my vxl-3s broke after a week so traxxas are sending me a brand new velineon system, even a new motor. So i waiting for that to come but will my slash be any good a racing now? The thing i have upgraded are

Pro-Line Front Skid Plate Slash
RPM A-Arms Front Rustler/Stampede/Slash
RPM Rear A-Arms Slash Black
Traxxas Big Bore Shocks Slash
Pro-Line Rear Skid Plate Slash
Pro-Line Bow-Tie SC M2 Mounted Sixer Red/Black Rear Whl
Pro-Line Bow-Tie SC M2 Mounted Sixer Red/Black Front
Venom 50C 2S 5000mah 7.4v Sport Power LiPO-UNI

Hopefully it will be more durable and last longer because all that cost around $350. If i could have my time again i would probably of bought the blitz with no electronics cause i have a few servos and radios at home and i could of placed a mamba max in it. Would of ended up a whole lot cheaper. O well.
Tell me what you think

I don't understand why you didn't get a LCG conversion for it? It's useless on a track without it.

Low centre of gravity. Makes all the weight a lot lower. Better in every way IMO. I have the STRC conversion (that uses a stock Rustler chassis) on mine.

I have to agree with the LCG kit. There's a lot more to racing, especially if you want to be competitive, than just durability. Yes being able to finish the race is important, but as your driving skills improve the durability doesn't matter as much on it's own as the other limiting factors. These would include the platform you're running on and how much you can actually push said platform. Without doing some things to change that, you're only going to go so far.

They will make it more durable and the new wheels/tires will give you more grip but without-a-doubt, your next upgrade should definitely be a LCG conversion or sell it and get something else.

never was, never will be.

Having said that, a decent driver with a slash in a club race will run circles around worse drivers with SC10's and other more "competition-oriented" 2wd SC. It's in the fingers, not in the wallet. But all skills being equal, the slash will get a whoopin'.

Welcome to the "Ready-To-Race™" World Of Traxxas.

Don't waste your money. That STRC lcg chassis makes a great base for a shelf queen but will bend / break very quickly. RPM a-arms are good for bashing, but not racing. The reason they don't break as easily is because they are made from a very flexible plastic. That also means they will warp, sag, etc and your setup will not be consistent. If your primary goal is to race, save your money and buy a SC10, XXX-SCT, or Blitz.

Why are you wasting your money trying to make a slash track competative? It is a basher, plain and simple. You could spend tons of money trying to make the slash good on the track, and it still wont keep up with an out-of-the-box RTR SC10.

Its like dumping money into a toyota tercel, in attempts to get it to compete around the track with subies and vettes. Can the car go around the track? sure... but can it compete on the clock? no....

They tyres depend on the track.

As for the rest of it, just buy another kit, by the time you spend all that money to upgrade a slash to the same levels of the other more "race-oriented" ones you will have probably spent the same amount.

Or even buy a used race chassis.

Nailed it

With the amount of money you are going to spend on this truck to make it handle well on the track, you could have gotten a SC10 FT kit all the elec. for it and a bunch of tuning parts and been better off and be faster on the track
