Maybe you can pick up someone elses used esc and motor and save yourself a ton of money.
If you get new stuff and you are just playin it may not really be necessary.
I race a bunch and run with older stuff, might even be famous for it!
My "go to" speed controls are Novak GTB and I have a few different motors, all were good deals and the right price. If you take basic care of these they seem to last forever.
Of course it's a different story when I'm trying to be competitive in a 17.5 no boost class where a fresh battery and motor geared on the edge can make a very noticeable difference cuz this class is a "just barely enough power" class.
If you're talkin modified motors you can make more than enough power with any of em. (sportsman talkin here, pro or expert different story)

If running rear motor, its just the shims under the rear arms front pivot mount. If running mid like you are its the shims and the matching blocks that go in the pivot mount. Your SCT came with the LRC mounts. Make sure if you order the full kit you get the LRC, unless you want the HRC for some reason, but then youll have to get the HRC toe blocks to match.

Also if you raise the tranny, you put the same spacers as the rear motor plus you have to put an extra 1mm spacer under the front of the tranny on top of the front pivot block

Generally the amount of weight that transfers back under acceleration of forward under braking. With mid motor you may want less anti squat to generate more rear traction for forward grip.

If you don't mind, can you link me to it and give a good description of your track. I'm gonna start a new section or really a sub-section on the front page called RC Tech Member Setups. I think that at times as good as the pro setups are, they are top level drivers and sometimes their setups are very aggressive because they're able to handle a truck that's on the razor's edge. But for a lot of people, they need their trucks dialed back for the "common-racer". In the SCTE thread, some people started sharing setups that worked really well for people because their driving ability/style were more similar. I think it would just be a great option to have. Obviously the Pro set-ups will stay on there as well. They make for a fantastic starting point and people can kind of "detune" from there. Also, they're great for those that can handle a truck on the edge and are looking for the most aggressive performance they can get and don't mind having a truck that's a little more difficult to drive but super responsive and fast when in the right hands.

Yes they've been out for quite some time. Available at many online retailers or you can ask your LHS to order you one.

Well, got home from work tonight and sitting at my door was a nice box from Horizon Hobbies. Opened up the box and there they were, the new ballcups!!! I have to say, they might have gone just a little overboard with the packaging lol a small envelope would've been fine In seriousness though, this is EXCELLENT customer service that we've gotten from TLR. They could have just sent the ones for the steering rack, but nope, they sent 12 ball cups total. That's great customer service. Thank you TLR/Losi/Horizon, you guys are all a class act! Here's some iphone pix of them.
