The only thing different about the new and old diff styles are the cross pin diameters. The new diffs have a slightly larger diameter on the cross pins and a small flat so they key into the diff case. Also the satellite gears on those cross pins have a slightly larger hole for the larger cross pins. The new gears seem to have just a little more precise tolerance on them and they are smoother on the first build. Once the original diffs are run in for a pack or 2 they are just as smooth as the new style. Out-drives and diff cases and everything else are all still the same for eb48 no matter which style diff you have.
You cant use the SCT410 outdrives on the eb48. The ball ends on the eb48 cvd bones are too large to fit the sct410 outdrives. Slightly heavier duty on the 1/8 scale eb vs the 1/10 scale sct.

They obviously needed recalled. I could be wrong though :-)

So pretty much every internal part has been changed...also my original eb48 diffs after about 30 packs didn't change a whole lot IMO...loving the sct410 ones though...just sucks that they were so expensive to replace.

If you were trying to convert from buggy to SC, the SC uses smaller diameter driveshafts and dogbone ends, so you can't mix and match those or the outdrives without changing both from vehicle to vehicle.

love this car like no other ive ever owned. not had 10 packs threw it yet but my hyper 9 an dex408 will never be at the track in my hands again. the minute my bank account has recovered from this purchase there will be a sct on the way an my desc will join the same fate as my old 1/8īs. after todays race id imagine alot more teknos appearing at my local track very soon.

Now back to the awesome Tekno! I just built my new buggy with stock springs and 40f/35r and 7/10/5. Hoping its a good starting point.

I have a semi loose clay and topsoil mix track at my house. When it has any moisture to it the track has massive traction otherwise it will keep a light layer of dust to it on top. I water it and/or use a leaf blower to keep the traction pretty high. I plan to run on a bunch of different types of tracks and figured since people are running a little higher then normal diff fluids and liking it that I would start with the 7/10/5. I think I will like it. I do feel like I went too heavy on the shock oils at least bench testing it they feel too stiff. Feels like way too much pack and like I need to drop down to around a 35/32.5 or 37.5/32.5 setup. I will see how it goes.
