Thanks for the responses on the PT location. I'll go ahead and put it there.

Serves me right for reading the included pamphlet, it mentions placing the PT as far from the receiver as possible......

how is the wear on your EB48 compared to Mugen, Xray etc..

I heard many local drivers complain about moving parts wearing too fast, what is your experience?

The very original batch had some faster wear on the outdrives, but that's been fixed. The only thing I've got wearing (and not in an overly fast manner) is the rear center driveshaft.

any chance of getting pics of the bottom with serpent body on. curious on the air gap.
The body is a little wide but Velcro on the sides holds everything down.

Also I'm going with the Serpent body. The black wheels sealed the deal.

doubt that, it's already very flexible, you can bend one end to touch the other.

You could make it taste better though.

Default stock Tekno body

Nice!! I like that paint scheme too. The Tekno body looks way more agressive.

Well in life it's great to have variety. Folks are torn between both bodies. I have the best of both worlds. Why choose one sister over the other when you can date them both

I did up date the firmware. I am at A61 now. The contact at Viper admits that there is a problem, and they are working on it. The temporary solution was to limit current waayy down, and that just made the SCT410 too slow.
Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not hating on Viper. I am just trying to warn my fellow Teknophiles about the potential for trouble. The VTX8 isn't cheap, so, in my opinion, it should be nearly flawless. Agreed?

Maybe all your yanking killed the sensor cable?

There has only been one update to the FW for the VTX8 and it's more of an update in relation to 2 pole motors I think, they support 4 pole out of the box. Not sure why they would tell you to run a 2 pole, sure you could, but you shouldn't need to. I could run a 2
pole in my EB48 if I wanted to, but I don't want to.
In my SCT410, with the original firmware, it would stutter and hesitate like a bad sensor cable. I tried a couple different sensor cables, but no luck. I was in the middle of a winter points series, running three classes with controlled practice. I couldn't afford the time for any further experimentation. My gear had to work right when I hit the track, so I put the RX8 back in. Team Viper told me that the Tekin 540 4 poles were too inefficient to be run on 2s. They draw too much current. That sounds like BS to me.
In my EB48, sometimes when I would turn on the speedo, the car would hesitate, then surge forward with power. It was almost like a delay box, but not predictable. Made jumping very interesting. This cost me some qualifying opportunities, and cost me at least a few positions in one of my mains. I lost valuable points.
Guys, this is RACE gear, not PLAY gear. We pay a premium on this stuff. It should work out of the box. I understand that somethings can go unnoticed, but these problems were obvious, and instant, not hidden.

i agree with you,the amount of money we lay out for premium gear should translate to quality play time....
