Guys... for what its worth Kellum has been sitting around working on the truck until today. He leaves for NeoBuggy in Europe. We have been discussion with xray about some of the parts they are providing and quantities they are able to provide based on feedback on the truck. We have sent drawings to another shop to have parts made to supplement the demand.
We are 100% about customer service hence the reason this process is taking as long as it is. Once everything kicks off we want to ensure complete satisfaction in every possible facet of the truck. If you want certain upgrades from xray, we want them on hand. If we get slammed with 1000 orders at once we want everyone to have the opportunity to get if. Kurt and I are approaching this project with intention of handling each and every one of you and not leave anybody hanging at the end of the day. I do not know anything about the mugen truck and really am not worried about it. The xsct has been in the hands of some of the fastest in the world for testing. The xsct also spent a year in development. I didn't see somebody else's truck and decide to build my own. WBD pioneered the better sct movement. Wait on the original or go with a wanna be. The choice is yours. Thank you for being patient. We did plan on people racing the truck already but unforeseen circumstances changed things on us at the last minute. I WANT TO PREORDER NOW.. |
sorry was false info from a freind that dont have any info, sorry for that

$800 is a bit steep, but honestly, I probably spent $1000 getting the Losi SCTE to where I felt it needed to before I sold it.
You got to remember, this car is 8th scale quality, not cheap 1/10th scale quality. xb9 roller is pushing $550 or so??? HUGE difference in how 8th scales are made versus 10th. Xray is well known for the quality of their kits. Also, this is likely a relatively small production run so you can't get super cheap pricing for all the custom fabrication work they need to do. |
Frankly was expecting similar pricing since its costly to fab CF in small runs. CNC time is expensive!!
|
If u use the xb9 arms with the smaller track width inner holes for hubs will the width be roar legal? Then it makes the conversion easier since arms are what most people are gonna reorder.

$400 for a conversion, $800 for a roller? Seriously? I know that small production runs are costly, and I have no beef with K2RC if that's what they have to sell these for to make any profit. And no doubt ppl will buy them. Not many, I don't think, at those price points. But, the trend of either buying a quality SCT for $800, or buying a $300-$400 one from other companies, then spending another $300-$400 to make them race worthy, durable, and lighter, will be the death of this class. WTF spend $800 just on the chassis, when you can spend $400-$500 for an ESCALE that will go faster, handle better, and be more durable????? All the other bits, servo, ESC, motor, batteries, tires, etc are basically the same cost between the two classes, with the nod going to escale on much, much lower cost invested in bodies. I just don't get it anymore. The class is going to devolve into a hardcore racer only, with deep enough pockets to affort the trucks. I wanted to get an XSCT myself, but I'm not spending that kind of money anymore. I can buy two escales for what these cost. Unless the mainstream factories step up to build a reasonably priced roller, with escale durablility, this class is in for a sharp decline.

The sad thing is that most people want to do all these upgrades to the sc trucks when they dont even have to.I still have the stock chassis on my losi scte, tuning kit and lightened outdrives thats it.Everyone thinks that the lighter and more upgraded it is the better and faster the truck will be.I can get beat by an out of the box losi scte by the right driver. If the class goes under,it is due to the lack of common sense of some of our fellow rc'ers.
Really all you need for the slopsie to be sufficient is a rear carbon tower and new outdrives.. Maybe some pistons and springs if you're that worried.. Only reason I bought the tlr kit and HA crap is because money was burning a hole in my pocket and this truck wasn't released to spend it on |

I got rid of the slop with the new rod ends and the new hard anodized balls, that was the main issue i had with the truck, not worried about the spring or weight it drives fine and i can win races with it so thats all that matters to me:)

But think about this in the long run think about how much money you have spent on the losi they dont last at all constitely rebuilding diffs shock towers bend really easy etc. Youve probaly spent 500 on the losi already but with the xsct nothing weares out a tall ive seen this xsct alot in real life and nothing has worn out since the first day i saw it.

BS ! I have owned an 808 and its parts wore out just like any other R/C I have owned , sold it cause parts were hard to find , and they were expensive to buy when you could . Not to mention the pinion gear design ....... |
If parts dont wear out then they are not functioning properly.

Honestly guys, i dont think this trucks gonna happin anyway, so no sense in arguing over it
