RC8Be to RC8.2e Conversion Parts List (Complete))

ok awesome, thanx for the reply.
What I would do is just go with his list and actually go to a website like www.towerhobbies.com or www.amainhobbies.com and price everything out and that should give you a pretty good estimation of what you would want to do from there. If you have the money now, and wanna spend it, I would just buy the RC8.2e and you will not be disappointed.

Haha, yeah it took a little time, but it seems like it was all worth it because I know and many others were looking for a kit or just a list in general that would show the differences and could convert our buggies over to the RC8.2e ! Im glad that this list has helped you out, and I hope it does for many others in the future.

So I went a head and added everything up on the list. I crossed referenced both cars and noticed some items you don’t really need, they either look cooler or are the exact same part (89380 blue anodized aluminum steering blocks) these come with the 2e kit but are exactly the same as the ones on the be kit except they aren’t plastic. I don’t know if I miss typed anything but I got a grand total of $710... So yeah, incase any of you are wondering, just buy the new kit.

Yes, the 8.2 chassis is 3mm longer.
I'm actually one of dumb ones who has replaced each part instead of building a new kit. The only thing I haven't changed yet are the lightened ring gears & the front lightened diff outdrives & the motor mount. I ran mine yesterday @ SDRC, car ran great, had awesome steering & it was stable but I didn't have a good set up on it, but I still finished 2nd .
Thanks for the conversion list!

Just bought and RC8Be and began doing some of the conversions. I did the A Arms front and rear. Sway Bars Front and rear. Had to grind down a couple of areas in the front a arms to get them to work properly. Is there any other parts that are absolutely a must have on this list? Chassis? and those parts? Thanks for the list and the advice!

My car is a rc8be with the worlds upgrades. I priced out the rest of the suspension parts and the wing mount on Amain and my list was near $250. I decided I will just run the car as it is now and mid season I will do more of the conversion as my car is ready for a rebuild. I figure the lightened drivetrain parts arent a big deal to have since my buggy already seems overpowered and the extra couple millimeters of the shock towers and shock length might even work to my advantage since the ebuggy is so heavy. I figure having the long chassis and new geometry ought to be enough to get by for a while.

It's about 1/2 the price if you get the parts on eBay..just have to be smart about what you buy and from who your buying it from..I "might" do this by just doing the Chassis, A arms & shock towers..I just went through all my diffs and installed a new bearing kit, I do plan on getting a new RC8.2e but my converted 8e would make a great practice buggy..in fact I'm thinking about trying the longer chassis & rear center shaft to start off with, just adding the longer chassis would make an improvement on a rough track..

I am looking at a NIB. RC8BE locally but not sure if I should buy it with the feedback from you guys. What is problems with this buggy? What are they worth new in the box?
Thanx in advance

The older RC8 is not bad and it's still more than capable of winning..but the the newest version.. the RC8.2e is waaaaaay better on a blown out track, is a lot smoother, jumps better.. It's a much improved product, personally I would wait a while, save your money and get the 8.2e..
