Wow! Thanks was looking for this! :D

Haha, no problem! Im sure a lot of people were looking for this...I decided to take the time to do it for myself because I was curious also. Most of the parts are Factory Team and seems like it would be worth the money to go ahead and do the conversion over to the RC8.2e but it might be around $250 or so...I only priced out a couple of the parts and I was sitting around $150, but I was also using TowerHobbies as my main searching website, and didn't use any other stores/websites! Thanks for the positive feedback :)! I really appreciate it!

Is there anybody else who is finding this post helpful? Please leave a post and let us know what you think of it!!

It's useful I was also curious on this as well if its a lot of money is it worth it though? I've been hearing the 8.2 is not that great but that's from local races so idk if there's setups not good

TEXT 01-18-2012 10:53 PM

Yeah i would think too that it might be their setup or their personal opinion of the car...i have heard that its lighter and from what i have seen from the parts it is built stronger...they really thought about weight and im sure it would be worth it to convert this vehicle if you have the money to throw at it...or slowly buy the parts and put them on the vehicle until u would have to buy the chassis and probably the drive shaft +3mm when you need to do that! Other than that...battery tray and diffs are the same...no changes made...i am happy that they made a new wing and have the jconcepts body on there...cause it did make a difference in my book! I would look for some setup sheets from the pros and see what to do then!! Thanks for posting :)!

handy to know what parts it uses, although i cant seem to find the motor mount 89529, where did u find it? im hoping it fits on my sc8e, any ideas if it does or doesn't?

That stuff i wouldnt know about...but I have had both manuals side by side me when I was going through them...i might have forgotten that part, but you can check in the manuals if you want to. Sorry I dont know about that one dude :P

Thanks for doing the work! I know when I was looking into the Losi 8ight 1.0 vs 2.0 it wasn't alot of fun tracking down the differences. I saw you said it was over $150 and you were only partially through, any idea what the full cost would be?

I have a Tekno V4 RC8 conversion. I was checking on updating just the suspension to 8.2 spec and well...

I was at 373.18 :weird:. That was with shocks, springs, towers, A,B,C, and, D plates, upper and lower arms, caster blocks, sway bars, wing mount and wing.

Ill just go but the whole buggy for less than $100 more and sell the one I got!

Parts I had added:
ASC89540 - Team Associated Wing Mount (RC8.2)
ASC89304 - Team Associated "Illuzion" 1/8th Scale Wing (Black)
ASC89551 - Team Associated Rear Arm Set (RC8.2)
ASC89550 - Team Associated Front Arm Set (RC8.2)
ASC89549 - Team Associated Front Upper Arm Set (RC8.2)
ASC89530 - Team Associated Front Swaybar Kit (RC8.2)
ASC89531 - Team Associated Rear Swaybar Kit (RC8.2)
ASC89558 - Team Associated Caster Block Set (RC8.2)
ASC89539 - Team Associated Aluminum Rear Shock Tower (RC8.2)
ASC89538 - Team Associated Aluminum Front Shock Tower (RC8.2)
ASC89541 - Team Associated Front Shock Spring Kit (6) (RC8.2)
ASC89545 - Team Associated Rear Shock Spring Kit (RC8.2)
ASC89290 - Team Associated Factory Team 29mm Big Bore Front Shock Kit
ASC89346 - Team Associated Factory Team 38mm Big Bore Rear Shock Kit
ASC89460 - Team Associated Suspension A-plate
ASC89481 - Team Associated "Low B" Suspension Plate w/Inserts
ASC89462 - Team Associated Suspension C-plate
ASC89463 - Team Associated Suspension D-plate w/Pins

That's a very useful list. I can speak from experience that the 8.2 parts make the car MUCH easier to drive, especially on rough tracks or crooked jump landings.

I got to run my car on a very small indoor track last weekend. First weekend on all the 8.2 suspension parts, and the car was lights-out fast. Huge improvement over the B car!

Thanks for the list.

What I would do is just go with his list and actually go to a website like www.towerhobbies.com or www.amainhobbies.com and price everything out and that should give you a pretty good estimation of what you would want to do from there. If you have the money now, and wanna spend it, I would just buy the RC8.2e and you will not be disappointed.
