Hello everyone I'm new here and I have a quick question...I recently bought a RC8e off forum. When I finally got to drive it ...when I throw on the brake it makes and horrible clicking sound !! I'm not a %100 sure what the normal running sound is "probably similar to my TT MT4 . I've had it apart and replaced all the dog bones center, rear and front, inspected all the gears and rebuilt the diff's and I can not find the problem or why it sounds like there is a slipper clutch when I gas this thing..should I post a video ? please help

when I've had that happen, the gear mesh wasn't set correctly.

I experienced something similar with my RC8.2e. It turned out to be the diff pinion gear hitting the diff. There was a little slop between the gearbox input cup and the diff pinion to allow it to move into the diff housing and contact the diff housing, which also threw off the mesh between the two gears.
I re-set the diff pinion as tight as I could with the input cup and also put a washer between the input cup and the diff housing. This forced the set screw against the edge of the pinion notch so that it can't creep forward again. Hope that makes sense.

Would be nice to see a more recent setup on AE's site, even if it is KYO shocks, springs, and camber link mod'ed up! Maifield's Neo setup would be nice!

Silencer Nitro body on there I'm assuming?

Could the pinion being worn help this happen ? I know it is hitting the diff housing in the front end .

In my case the kit was new, I didn't assemble it tight enough. Once I took out the slop, the problem went away and hasn't come back after four months.
