Default upgrade shocks for the new b4.1

hey everyone, was looking for some advice on which shocks to upgrade to. Just got the b4.1 buggy it has aluminum body but not threaded and no bladder in the cap, anyway I don't think they are that great of quality but at $229 for a brushless 2.4hz rtr is still a steal in my opinion. Getting tired of short course love the way the buggy is stuck on the track. Thanks in advance

As above, I have just ordered a B4.1 brushless buggy and am currently trying to find some suitable lipos. Can anyone reccomend me a good set of lipos that will give good power and decent run times. I am looking at the hobby king site as they seem to be the cheapest. Also, would prefer ones with deans connectors already on them.

You can get the FT shocks, that's what I'd get.

IMO just get the bleeder caps when you rebuild them and run it. If I'm not mistaken the only difference in those and FT shocks is the threaded body. Using spacers won't hurt anything.

Hobbyking does not sell any packs with deans-like connectors anymore. Start heating up your soldering iron.

Actually the main difference between the blue aluminum shocks and the FT ones, is the fact the the FT ones are hard-coated. Meaning that they are supposed to basically last longer and be more awesome. The fact that the FT ones are threaded is also a big plus.

What size are the washers that are used under the ball studs?

I am a losi convert so I have a ton of the gold washers, are they the same?

Personally I wouldnt worry about changing the shocks - the FT shocks may last a little longer and be a little smoother but unless you are a pro you wont feel much difference. There is no performance difference between threaded vs clip ride height adjustment.

If you want to upgrade anything, I would look at a faster steering servo - from what I have heard, the RTR servos are very slow.

Pretty close to the same. The thickness should be .030", I have used the losi washers on the B4.

Thanks everyone for the advice the shocks just look/ feel cheap. I will look into the factory team and I am not trying to stir up a sh#% storm but has anyone used the "other" brands velvets? if so is there any changes need to be made? Thanks again. Oh bye the way I think the servo that came with the car is fine for now.

I run smc lipos 24c 4100 mah, they are pricey but I have been running them for 6 mos. now and no issues.
