Both my gears look ok, I am thinking it is something electrical cause I will apply power and it spudders and sometimes wont even go, then it will run fine, then back to spuddering and nothing at all.

Then the noise with the oinion on and then nothing whne its off is making me think motor.

have you tried just taking the motor out and cleaning it... sometimes some dirt or debris get in there and will make it sound shot. Also the sputter issue almost sounds like a cogg, if its a sensored motor make sure your sensor wire is fine. Sometimes it is just a motor that has met its day but clean it and double check wires before round filing it

CODMAN

Last year Ae produced a batch of shock bodies where the retainer clip groove received way to much coating and cause the clip to not seat in the groove causing the blow outs...

Yes

Well Lucky I am then! So do you think it comes down to poor quality control? I don,t really see what else since some people have problems, and others don't at all... If it was poor design, they would all (or at least most)have problems...

Oh well...

Its was a small batch of bodies with the problem, hard to say when we will stop hearing about it though...

Ae has already address the issue with new bodies & retainer clips ....

Worn clips can be the problem..especially on the rear of the truck. The truck has longer shock shafts and that greatly increases the pressure inside the shock when they are compressed.

The new shock clips help this and also the new bleeder caps help. They enable you to get the correct amount of oil in the shock which keeps the inside pressure under control.

To sum up...get the bleeder caps. Hobby shops will have them back in stock next week probably.

Great comparison shot of the front shock tower. Does anybody have one like that of the new rear shock tower?

Does any T4 setups use the 4th hole on the old tower or is that more a B4 thing?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Here is one I found which I think has the 4th hole. It is a pic from another site of Frank Root's car.

As soon as I get the tower I will take a comparo shot. The new rears havent hit shelves yet. The new Chassis are out however, and ive seen it break right at the back where the T-plate bolts to. Im gonna stick with my new old one for as long as I can.

I got my new B4 a couple weeks ago and the cartridge assembly fitted in 1st time on every shock. They are VERY smooth and are no different than the kyosho shocks as they aren't a pain now and won't randomly blow out. AE have done a very good job this time

Havent cleaned it,, it is brand new.. Raced 2 times, practice once.. New sensor wire doesnt work either haha.. I sent in the speedo to LRP and it came back so i assume there is nothing wrong with it.

Check your solder job. It might need some work because when one of the wires is loose. It cogs really bad. Also, check the bearings in the tranny, I replaced mine when it started to grind alittle and it helped slot. My buddy has the same problem with you and it was the bearings. Funky sound was coming from what seemed to be the motor but it was the trans bearings.
