Umm yes smartass there is. The FT has aluminum with a small screw, and the other ones run steel.

I like the aluminum ones because they sheer off very cleanly and don't take any other parts with them if/when they break. I've only broken one in the last year and I probably would have broken other parts if I had been using the steel ones...and the aluminum axles are much easier to replace than any other part on the B4. That might be a messed up way to look at it, but that's my opinion.

Yeah they do Kevin. Actually I find they hold too good sometimes. I barely tighten them and after running I have to use some muscle to break them loose.

BTW, if you want to use your Losi front rims, you can do so with a spare set of losi knuckles and axles... Just drill the hole out to 7/16" and use 1 less bumpsteer spacer than you would on the AE knuckles. You can only use the middle hub height though unless you shave the knuckle.

rears are the same... although the pros will tell you losi wheels have less sidebite cuase they are stiffer normal people wont notice

I started using a countersunk bolt with a cone washer on my FT front axles. I don't know if its coincidence but I haven't sheered the bolt since.

I think the black ones are the lightweight. The brown/gray sorta gunmetalish color are the stock steel ones.

Mine didn't have the holes cut out, they were just machined dimples I guess you could call them.

Might have been from anodizing, someone screwed up.
haha, it's plenty strong already and shouldn't give you any problems. The lightweight outdrive just has better acceleration, less rotating mass.

OK I'll try to clear it up. The lightened outdrives from Associated are the ones with the dimple and are black. MIP used to offer 'Lite Drives', and were drilled completely through. They snapped pretty easily. The standard outdrives used to be hard anodized a greyish color, but are now black. So you just got an older set.
