Thanks Stryker! The film I used was billed as "red cobra" but those are usually almost all red, and I'm with you, it has a copperhead-G-viper look to it.

Thanks Jay! With your help via many PM's with setup info, hopefully it runs as nice as it looks.

Agreed! Luckily or unluckily - depending on how you look at it, where I run, the races are outdoors and during the day. Occasionally they run at night so I may need to do another version of this body in something easier to see.

Thanks so much Tekno! and I'm with you, I'm no fan of snakes, or spiders for that matter. But the idea popped in my head to keep up the snake theme while I was building.

Looks cool, +1 on the shoe-horning of that that speedo, its just like the Hobbywing.

Just curious if the balance hole on the strap lined up with the plug on the battery.

Shoehorned the Orion ESC in place
I noticed you have cf mug guards and battery boxes. Where did you get those? Or did you make them? They look sick. Also how is the Orion setup working for you? Sorry for all the questions lol

I would like to rewire my speedo. You got some picture how you did yours it? Explanation? Very nice paint scheme. I prefer mines bright. I don't wanna mistaken it for something else.

What size screws did you fit on that Orion motor? Had one and those little screws would loosen up. So thats why I put in a tekin motor.

Thanks Mayor. Yeah I had to go the Orion route after reading many of Porkchop's posts. So far I love it!

On the speedo side, balance hole lines up perfectly. Motor side, I just barely have to push on the nub the cotter pin goes thru on the battery box and it lines up perfect. It has to do with the plastic and the mold they make the battery box with I suspect.

Thanks for the compliments 3Racers, they are just the stock battery boxs and mud guards that I wrapped in 3M DiNoc carbon I had laying around, although if someone on here makes some real carbon ones like those battery straps, i'd have to get em.

So far I am liking the Orion running gear, plenty fast and smooth power delivery.

Yes sir! 3M DiNoc carbon film. Can always be found at a reasonable price on ebay. Just make sure to get the 3M DiNoc and not the many nock-off versions out there. They dont conform or stick as well.

Basically all I did was pop the carbon cover off and notch the opposite side so the power switch and servo connection came out facing the battery. I used a really sharp Exacto blade and scored a notch the same size as the original and routed the wires and grommet thru it. This more than likely voids warranty but im willing to accept the risk for reward of having the speedo I want oriented the way it needed to be for this application.

I Just used the stock motor screws. I read on here (I think) many pages back about the tendency of the screws coming loose and the solution was blue loctite on the screws, so that is what I did before I even installed. So far, so good, no issues

Cool, the next run I think I will enlarge that hole a little from 3mm to 4mm-5mm or so. Thats a couple of reports of the hole missing a little. The good thing is it is just carbon, and if you need to drill it out a little you can. It shouldn't affect the strength. If you drill carbon use a piece of wood below it so the material wont tear out.

Can someone recommend the pinion I should use with running a 1700kv tekin buggy motor with a 46 spur. My temps seem to be high as I am running a 20t pinion right now. Thanks.
