Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good place to buy upgrade parts for the 811e buggy? I'm waiting on my kit to come Friday and I want to upgrade a few parts as I build. Thanks, I'm so excited to get this car!

The car needs no upgrades what so ever.
www.serpentamerica.com
or
www.amainhobbies.com
carries all the parts for the cars. All I would suggest if you want "upgrades" is the aluminum front and rear shock towers. Pick up a 2.3 front sway bar while your at it as well. It really brings the car to life IMO

Thank you! Actually shock towers are what I wanted. A friend of mine suggested the harder servo saver spring as well. I'm so excited for this kit!!! Do you think the 5.5mm or lightweight for the aluminum towers?

Yes forgot to mention that as well.
The 8 hole conical pistons, Blue front spring, Yellow rear spring, are also very necessary in my opinion. You will find different options at different tracks but that's what seems to work the best almost everywhere.

So sad to hear about porkchop.. Thank you for everything man. Rest in peace.

Absolute Hobbyz also carries all the Serpent parts + more.
Been spectacular service.

Aluminum towers are not a must, the other parts mentioned are more important.

I finally got to take it to the track, only a couple of jumps were actually dry...Weather in the UK is so crap!
I seem to nose dive quite a bit on the jumps, think i need softer rear springs.

Im on stock out of box setup, 45wt front, 35wt rear and stock springs from box.
Diff oils (f, c, r) 3k, 7k, 5k.

Also im looking to change to a Futaba 4pl from the spektrum.
But i have a problem with Receivers, i can get the Futaba R2106GF cheap for only £27 but will it fit??? Will i have to cut away some of the radio tray to get it in? Its 38mm long, but then the Plugs go into the side which means i think itll be about 50mm long =/ Tray is 43mm long.

Edit new plan
Futaba R2106GF in my other cars, Futaba R2104GF(comes with 4pl) in Serpent 811BE =D

very sad to hear about porkchop indeed, this just has not been a good week all around... I guess his recent bout in the hospital awhile back was a sign. At least he had some good times with his Serpent buggy and also racing at such a high level.

Maybe we all can pay tribute to him in some way this weekend if you're racing...

No Idea!! 06-22-2012 12:22 PM

Sorry to hear about Porkchop had valuable info and set up guides for my 811,is input will be missed,R.I.P regards to is closer friends.

Stock towers have been fine, never broke a thing still using stock servo horn, never broke and had some tumbles.

Can someone give me an idea of what proper shimming is? This is the second kit I've built so I'm not entirely sure on the ins and outs. Thanks guys very much appreciate all the input and help.

are you following the manual with the updated direction inserts. Every car will be different pending on wear but if its new follow the directions
