Tony, is that with the CSI black pistons?

JPKinsella 05-19-2012 08:27 PM

csi pistons

I am also running the blue csi pistons losi 40 in front losi 32.5 rear 2.0mm sway up front 2.3mm rear. Blue springs up front yellow rear.. those are the quick change sway bars also did notice they run stiffer than the stock bars.. Black csi pistons had to much pack on my local rough track.

Billy is making an update for the 811 series to have the shocks mounted on the rear of the tower. Not sure when it will be available.

I hear parts are coming soon. I went and converted it along with the hole c it was only slightly faster then stock but far more confidant and consistent lap to lap. It is some work so its great news that parts will be available.

Best regards,
James

No that's with 1.3mm 8 hole. No have not used the csi pistons. Thanks for the kind words. It won't be long for the new parts to mount the shocks behind the tower. I have seen them being tested. And there already on the on road gt car

I got my Serpent 2nd hand, so im not sure how the diff was built.
The car has been run for about 10mins by the 1st owner.
The front diff feels notchy and noisy partially around the circumference when rolling the car. Is this normal?

The rear diff is smooth and quite. Why the difference?

tony montana 05-20-2012 05:44 AM

if you have the time I would take it apart and check it out. Mine was very notchy when I first built it. But it became really smooth after I ran a couple of batteries threw it.

Since it has low minutes and when building per direction its tight once you put time on the kit everything seats in perfectly. If you notice its not getting smooth after a few packs break it down and cross reference against instructions sounds like its almost new

Many weeks of running 2nd place and I finally wheeled the car into the #1 spot. Never leaving this brand of 1/8

I know there have been a couple of revisions to the Nitro car but has there been any revisions to the electric version?

I ask because my LHS got a couple in stock when they first shipped and still has one in stock. He offered it up for a good price but I wasn't sure if the newer ones had any running changes.

Thanks in advance

As far as I know there wasn't any problems with the first cars and they are the same. I know people were having problems breaking wing mounts and servo horns right away but that's because they are both plastic. The E version comes with all the things they just updated on the nitro car. (Big bearings in the diffs and carriers) but you don't get the nice shock caps and the aluminum towers like the new nitro car but there not necessary just bling.

I got one of the first cars off the line, had 1 or 2 very hard crashes on the straight and it didn't damage anything what so ever after 2 months of running twice a week.

Pull the trigger and get it man. You wont be disappointed at all.

Attention to Anyone!

Does anyone know the Dimensions/Constraints for the Serpent body? Possibly even a CAD? I know Serpent does but I doubt they would ever share that. Working on designing a custom body for the car. Cab forward.
