Saladfork, how was the fit for the viper motor. I would really like to get one to run with my viper speedo. But for now I have the Novak.

I would recommend the viper to anyone as long as they run sensored motors. Lol I love my viper speedo so much. It is so easy to tune and is one of the smoothest speedos I have tested.

Slipper issues.
 

After further investigation. The slipper thrust spacer part number 91090 on the top shaft was machined short. It made the pulley rub the trans case. Thats how i found the problem. I used some shims, and bench tested it. No slippage. Whoever machined these parts need to turn up the chuck pressure on the lathe. Now we have to wait. Or find some shims to take care of this problem.

Very, very tight... Motor will not fit without doing some dremel work. ;)
Not a deal breaker for me, I ran the prototype 4.5 and 5.5 in my SCTe and liked those out of all the other 550's I tested over the last year and a half.

I am thinking about trying the 6.5 in my truck. Will it work?

I know it was asked a while back but I don't think there was a clear answer...can anybody provide any input regarding the advantage/disadvantage to running the shocks with or without bladders?

I've built them both ways with the supplies in this kit and the only difference appears to be that the non bladder (without removing upper X-Ring) build seem to be a bit more smooth/plush while the one with the bladder is a bit more stiff/less plush. No leak either way assuming you use the correct seal on the cap.

Yes, that motor will run great...for about a month. If you're dead set on running a motor of that size you'll need some 24p pinions and spurs and the CF reinforced belt, and you'll have to dremel the chassis a little.

Just save yourself money in the long run, and get the real deal FFS. God, quit trying to save a dollar.

In all seriousness, now, are the leads on the Spektrum servos the same length as the ones on the Savoxes? ThunderbirdJunkie will be picking up a Spektrum S6040, which is pretty close to the same as the Savox 1258..so...assuming no extension necessary?

I run the Spektrum s6040 with the receiver box and I have to use an extension wire.

a buddy of mine used a spektrum servo (not sure which one) and he had to use an extension.
