SC10 4x4 Thread
interesting, lets discuss shall we?
i personally dont like emulsion setup because it takes at least a lap or two for them to settle down. to emulsify is to mix air and oil and that takes a minute or so to happen assuming you built them that way. seems to me that if you build a bladderless shock with no air to mix you are not truly emulsifying??? on the rebound thing , everytime i build an emuslify shock the rebound seems more pronounced than the bladder style ( at least the way i build them anyway!!). lately since i use the 2 stage pistons i have been building my shocks bladder style, no rebound and leaving the bleed screw completely out. this makes for EASY builds and the truck acts the same from start to finish, the also allows the pistons to be more accurate with the rebound. to properly build an emulsion shock accurately you need either a shock matcher or a syringe to make sure the oil levels are exact and even then, all shocks leak so eventually they end up uneven!!

I'm 55 ....
and yeah ,
nobody likes getting beat by a old bald guy with yellow Novak T-shirt driving pink JConcepts Raptor...
no body....
You may have trouble driving a faster car , cus your just not used to it...
Why ?
Mostly because most always try to make their car easier to drive and kill corner speed and steering.....

I'd say after 30 years and 15k posts, it might be time to pack it in....
wow... can we please stay on topic folks... this off topic slamming of other is really starting to get out of hand...
I do my best to tell you guys the newest & latest set-up advise ....
If you & Craig could ?
Something else besides trying to get on my goat would be most help full for this thread.
Bladder's & Emulsion Shocks
When the shaft goes up into the shock body the shaft displaces oil and the bladder stretch's allowing the shaft to be extended inside the shock body .
You cannot displace or compress the fluid so this is why the bladder stretches and keeps the air out of the oil.
There fore the bladder act like a little spring producing more "pack"....
You can compress air ...
This is why a emulsion shock can allow the shaft to be extended inside the shock body , air also offer's little resistance to the shaft entering the shock body thus less "pack" than a bladder.
More pack = good for jumps & bumps
less pack = more traction & good on smooth surfaces
Neither design is better or the best !!!!!

I've been watching/reading/participating in this thread since it started. This thread has been in the crapper for about 2 months now. It's already "out of hand".
No you don't! It's always the same snarky shite.
We are human beings. We can argue about things. I don't think any of this is "in the crapper". It's the reality of so many opinions in one place. You argue, get a little personal maybe (especially when it's deserved) and move on with the topic. it does need to stop eventually. but it's started with emulsion debate and WC's 'imo' ridiculous opinion sent it here. It will rebound with good content. It's the wave of a forum. I'm not bothered by it no one else 'should' be either. It's Human.

How about you explain how fluid dymamics works differently in 1:10 scale vs 1:1 scale, and while we're at it, vs 10:1 scale.
Because I'm dying to hear this.
Just been told the way the oil behaves in a small 1/10th shock is a lot different than a full size shock....
I'm not perfect , I don't know all ...
I do know a lot about how to go fast with a Ae Sc 4x4 though ....

Yeah, I think he is. But since today is my day to kick a guy when he's down, I might keep at it with you.
What I think is wrong with your product is lack of a shock dyno. Every real race car I've been around over the past 15 years has had shocks that were developed on a shock dyno, in no small part because you could replicate them as parts wore out.
Have you considered trying to develop one?
