For the Record guys...

I find it hilarious that you're buying FT alum Tierods, and alum Bolt sets that decreases weight... and then turn around and add weight. Spending hundreds of dollars doing it. They've got you wrapped around their finger! :o

I follow that to a SLIGHT extent. The Tierods... "Maybe".
But those alum bolts? 90% of which are in the chassis itself? No. Not a chance. Not. a. chance.

You miss the point.

ThunderbirdJunkie was agreeing with you.

No no. I know. I'm just bullshitting about it now.

Don't worry, as a believer in light-as-plausible, ThunderbirdJunkie is also baffled.

For the record...

I have the ft alum fieriest and screws (not using many) and the ft shock kits but I didn't spend a penny on them. A certain AE team driver gave them to me along with a bnib reedy sonic 6.5 brushless.

Now, as far as why people add weight after they put the lightweight stuff on is kinda simple, get the weight as low as possible. Its extreamly important to get the weight lower in rock crawling, why not in sc racing and other offload racing.

Sorry Bub, Taking weight out of the Chassis where 80% of those screws go anyway, then buying a heavier chassis negates that statement. Along with the Tierods that are along the LCG point of the entire truck anyway. There is a difference in weight transfer gained by maybe... and I mean maybe: 2mm.

FT Tie Rods: 50.00
+
FT Bolts: 45.00
+
Exotech chassis: 110.00
=
$205.00 and 2mm LCG difference.

Don't get me wrong guys who are offended by my opinion. If I 'had' free money? I'd do this. (my reasoning is different, Bling baby!) But as far as performance? Don't kid yourselves.

We already have the lightest truck on the market. You could literally duct tape Fishing Lead to the chassis pan and achieve the 2mm lower LCG. I won't deny the trucks look gorgeous with the three things i'm attacking. But don't staple Performance when you bundle the three together. (emphasis on bundled)

considering i added 4.5oz on the sides of stock chassis, i expect it to work very well since the weight will be lower. Flex wise im not sure if it will make a difference since most of the flex is coming from the F/R sections more so than the center. i think it will be good, i will do some thorough testing with it next week, i have to make a custom saddle pack mount that matches the holes that are in it already. no way in hell im drilling on it!!
