I took a dremel to the shock body and left about 1/4" of flat to cure this.
They need a new spring maker. You can bend them some and move around the lower retainer and sometimes you can get them not to rub.

I've got the stock springs and the stock shock bodies.

What did you dremel? The flat at the bottom of the shock body?

Guys, what about ProLine Bowties in M2 compound for casual racing in the backyard? I want good grip (at least better than stockers) in a rather dusty clay track, and above all, a long lasting tire.

Been looking at the Trenchers in M2 aswell.

Suggestions? I would want at least 30hrs runtime until there's no groove on them.

Edit: RPM ARMS!!!! Are they made out of CFRP, or are they plain plastic like stockers?

put a tekin 4.5 sc4x in yesturday and run on a indoor clay track and think i'm actually slower then when I had a lrp 6.5 540 in it lol. The 4.5 is to torquey all the throttle is right in the beginning where as the 6.5 is way smoother and the power is more on the top so you can work the throttle better no so on/off. I think i'm gonna switch it back before the race tomorrow.

I've found I like the feel of my 540 better. Just as you described it made it easier to be smooth. I'm just as fast as the 550 guys at my local track (tight indoor) and the truck feels very consistant. I run a ballistic 540 6.5 turn with a 14mm rotor.

I burn about 1500-1800mah in 6 minute heat.

Running LRP XXX tc V2 ESC with 550 4.5t motor while the rx8 is being fixed. I should run "0" on the boost, correct? I noticed running default "3" boost the motor got a bit toasty at 180d after a pack.

Me 3, thinking Reedy sonic 6.5t would go pretty well with a LRP xxx tc v2.

you can use a 5.5 540 but for me the 6.5 lrp with a 13mm ht rotor geared at 16/93 was stupid fast so I don't see the need. I was using a lrp sxx comp v2 speedo and yes it got hot motor and speedo but I put a fan on the motor and speedo and atleast for the main it wasn't to bad. The only time I lost with the 540 can motor was when I had a motor break on me in the main and the other time my charger f'ed up and didn't charge my battery and it said it did and I hit lipo cutoff in the main. Other then that I haven't lost yet. I love this truck and I feel it is a advantage weight wise and handling on a indoor high grip track to run a 540 vs a 550 motor but once you go outdoors on a big track I feel that it changes.
