Looking to build a SC10 4x4 but don't want the RTR. This will be used for bashing so longer run time on 2s battery is a must. Would a MMP and 1410 (3800KV) be a good choice ? And would it be an improvement over what the RTR comes with? Was thinking gearing at 62/14.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
i am looking to race 4wd sct, is the sc10 4x4 ft going to be competive against the newer trucks? and what is everyone doing to the kit out of the box to get it up to speed, looking at the factory team kit

the MMP is really pushing it when being used in 4x4 SCTs.
If you need something that small however for a good price, the Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro ESC will do both 550 2 pole and 540 4 pole motors no sweat. I use this ESC on all my vehicles other than the EB48 I have and it works great.
For max runtime, use stick packs. There are 7200mah packs in high C rating out now, SMC and promatch both sell these.
If its outdoor 1/8 scale blow out tracks, you will find a variety of the upgrades from M2C, Exotek, and RC shox worth getting.
this thread is worth a read though to understand the quirks of the vehicle, and go into ownership with all the info up front.
As someone who has actually ran the vehicle on indoor tight high traction carpet and med-large 1/8 outdoor tracks with very little traction, I hope the info I can provide you helps.
The Team is fast right to go ..
Sc10 4x4 is still winning races here in the N/w ..
Check out John Walentia's Show Down set-up
just posted on www.Rc10.com .
Best set-up yet for indoor clay ...
I'll be there this weekend. Last I was there, Wilder's truck was on RAILS!
Just making more room in the stable. Torn between a staduim truck, and another 4x4 at the moment. Just finished my 44.2 last night, and will probably pick up a 4.2 this weekend. BTW, what are you doing in here Mr. Kyosho?

is anyone using a center diff in the truck, I saw one in a car listed for sale? I guess this truck is more based off of a b44 or 1/10th scale driveline, and the other trucks are running a 1/8th style driveline
Nothing 1/10 scale about this thing. It's 2 rear ends connected by a belt. There's no traditional oil filled center diff offered for this thing. Mantis offers the closest thing to one though, with his own C-diff. It's more of a huge ball diff.
I would say you may be happier with one of the 550 4 pole combos out there. From what I understand, they run cooler than either the 550 2 poles or the 540 4 poles with tons of power to spare.

Yes, it is competitive, but, you need to keep in mind the conditions you plan to run on. If its indoor stuff, high traction with 1/10 sized jumps, the vehicle really shines here.
