Nothing wrong with the 32 pitch on a 540 motor. The larger pitch is a touch less efficient, so if you start having temp problems to down to the 48 pitch.

probably so. I thought it might have to do with the RC shox pistons being thicker and maybe causing issues and maybe the clips too.
doubt that was the reason , more favor something else like a hard landing .... I have never broken or seen someone else crack one yet .. |
damn, i hate the fucking diffs of this truck! :flaming: I can't get them tight, whatever i do, 1 day at the track and all the oil comes out of the outdrives! I think the oil comes out beetween the 2 ball-bearings at the outdrives, so maybe i'll buy some new diff-cases without the bearing-mod :(

I just rebuild them 2 times this week xD i think the whole case is fucked up :( the outdrives have wobble, the diff makes strange noises and its leaking like hell. What could be the problem? Maybe too less shim-discs or i didn't cut the case well, so the outer bearing has wobble?

get a fresh case and all the parts that look worn.
make sure to limit your shocks with the grey clips 8mm so your bones dont touch the outdrives when shocks are compressed |
If they wobble, the cases are shot. Thats why some users do the bearing modification.
I lightly sand the large half before installation on a piece of 800 grit sandpaper to make sure it's perfectly flat. Limiting shock uptravel 7mm (shims on the OUTSIDE of the shock, on the shock shaft) is really important. |

I have read the AE is more difficult to go fast with but this much difference I did not expect. It's a beautiful car and I love AE but so far I'm disappointed. Copy this. - If you don't have the coupled parts, run the VTS standard with 20/20 pulleys. - If you don't have those expensive weights, make them. - If you're a running 540 can, don't worry about the 60grams under the slipper for now. - You don't have to run emulsion, I run bladders and it felt better for 'my track'. - Don't ask about the mentioned "steel diff inserts". They haven't been released. You will see potential with this setup, but unfortunately if you stay with us, you're not in for "box stock" amazing by 'any' means. (Ignore Wild Choke, the car has major issues we have to "try" and tune out of it) Losi has always been a forgiving car chassis. AE has never really been so much. |
