No , about 120 on motor, and 100 on rx8, just tested on street, but ran it for about 12 MIN, running hard, I am thinking I have a motor problem, the motor had a 14mm rotor in it, and I put the stock one back in today, 14mm just too low KV for the 5.5, I did the rotor exchange to SOP, is it possible I could have damaged the motor changing it out??? I'm sure it's possible, but LIKELY??? I put card stock in the radius, and did it carefully, made sure the shims were good, little slop on the rotor, turned freely, ERRRRRRRRRR
Are you sure its the motor and not a setting or something going on with the ESC? Do you have another motor you can try out (borrow, etc) or another ESC? Where are topping out down the longest straight at your track? |

I am rotating between two turnigy (hobbywing) 5k 2s 20c packs. They are the $20 lipos. They both took 4200 mah to charge though and they are starting to puff. I am going to retire them. I think the cutoff on my other esc is not right and compromised them. They both are In balance, but the case is swelling.
can anyone let me know where i can get music wire for sway barsk? ben

Bschanz,
Yes, that's a safe temp. They are safe to 220*f iirc. What size lipo were you using? 20 minutes run time is awesome on a $100 system! Did you have a fan on your motor or esc? Thanks in advance:) |
so, with the whole swaybar thing, who has the simplest breakdown of doing the swaybar mod with off the shelf parts (no custom wire bending etc) and maybe that could be posted on the guide?

Just picked up a sc4x4 and im trying to decide what esc and motor to use.
right now I have a nib tekin rx8 that I was thinking about selling and picking up the novak havoc pr esc motor combo. Bad idea? Or should I just pick up a motor and run the rx8? Which motor if I stick with the rx8? thanks |
Stick with the rx8 and for motors there is numerous ones. i'd recommended a tekin 5.5 550

Hope this wasn't covered before, not going through 124 pages. :)
A racer showed up Sat (5/21) to get a few laps in on his SC10 4x4, about four laps in he got some track junk in on the spur, removed the cover, cleaned out the junk. Two laps into the 2nd run junk on the spur again. Track is FZRC in Sarasota, FL which is a black sand dirt surface (it's a FL dirt thing) so this is maybe a FL only problem. How the junk was getting in was from a motor mount adjustment slot. Looking from the motor side of the mount towards the front of the motor you can see the slot is open. It's easier to see when the gear cover is off. Fix, from the spur side a bit of tape/silicone/shoe goo after you have set the gear mesh. . |
removing dirt from / replacing foams in tires

so when your brand new calibers fill with sand and stones all is not lost. here is how I handle it.
first clean completely. cut a clean incision around inside sidewall. flip tire insideout and remove foam. clean completely again. reverse process. be sure cut surfaces are clean. best to use applicater....glue back together with just enough glue to do the job. I clean up with an old open cell foam. ensure edges line up even when gliding. after ample dry time...pull on joints to ensure they are strong, adding glue if necessary. I check tires after every outing at track and rarely have any issues. the rubber on rubber bond is MUCH stronger than rubber to plastic. hope thishelps somebody. |

Rear bars should be available next week. I think I was told that the anti-roll bar hardware packs are being packaged this week also. |
for some strange reason can't get AEs site to come up, what are the part numbers for the rollbar kits front and rear?
