I prefer the 1/4cut solids to the bird cages too
Much more contact area with the solids.
They have to work better

Need to get an esc for it as the one it came with is a sensorless esc and the motor is a sensored one.
Looking at the Hobbywing XERUN SCT-PRO Sensored ESC.
Ant thoughts on how the SC4X will work with this ESC?
I use that motor. I am running 14/62 gearing and it runs about 145 with my esc. It is a good motor. As far as the esc well. I am using an lt4 but I wont recommend it nor will I discuss why. I would look at the 150 amp dualsky. They seem good. The mmp is good if you dont use a savox or any other high amp esc. Stay away from the tekin. Also dont to get into that argument

Going to use my ACE 14.5kg aluminium case servo so that shouldnt be an issue
Tekin is out of my price range so staying away is not hard
Will check out the gearing on the truck atm.
So you not a fan of the 120 HW for the SC?
Price is good if it does the job.

rx8 is the boss right now, but one of those brushless hobbies esc's might be pretty decent for the price. i wouldnt count on epic support from hobbywing as they are chinese

Works fine apparently but with a little cogging on take off as its unsensored
Price for an RX8 here is in the $260 mark

My v2 is pretty quiet. You assemble with pins trailing balls?

I just ran my V2 for the first race this past Saturday. I am cleaning the car right now. I took off the gear cover and everything is fine. My was quiet as a mouse, except when it screamed down the front straight like a raped ape...

Has to be your mesh or maybe you have one of the blue plastic washers on backwards. My guess.

Sometimes a sudden noise in the drive train can be traced back to a worn pinion. I had a squeal in my 2wd after replacing a spur. Replaced the pinion and it was back to normal.

Hello to all. After lurking on this forum for over a year now and reading with great intent on making my SC 10 4x4 fast and driveable, This is my first post. Having raced R/C cars now for 30+ years I had this little monster close but no cigar. After trying many things that have been written on this forum,Some helped,Some did not. Biggest improvments,Chassis brace, 8MM mod, Spring and oil changes, Exotek front locker. My setup now is very neutral and the car can be driven on a multitude of surfaces with a tire change, Maybe a slight ride adjust and it's good to go. The degree of intensity you members here have put into making this truck work is awsome!. I know many who just could not make it work and bailed out. So to all who have R&D'd and posted the findings,Thank You! In the future I will start posting some of my own mods that have helped make my truck better.

well found out it wasn't the v2, it was my motor, the front shaft bearing is gone and making the rotor spin all over the place.
