Pinning the top shaft and running the Exotek clutch are the same thing. Only difference is your idler gear is not stressed with the Exotek. You'll likely strip the rear pulley instead which is easier to replace.

The pinned top shaft still slips right. The inside hub is just directly attached to the shaft instead of spinning, correct? The exotek spins on the shaft but locks up the front slipper. The pinned shaft makes it into a b4 style sipper where front and rear slip the same, but the exotek allows the rear to slip and the front to not slip. No?

Looks like Tanner Denney made the A - Main, but didn't podium.

Fine with external bec now, I didn't think I would have to go there with the rx8's 5a bec... but I did.
Wow. I run a 1258 with an RX8/Novak Ballistic 4.5t, and I never have any brownout issues.

Seen it happen when using Spektrum radio, easy fix is to add a cap on the receiver side ....

Denney placed 8th and looked to be the only AE driver in Pro 4 class.
Again the SC10 4x4 the red headed step child not really liked at the family reunion but had to be invited because he's family.

has anyone tried to make their own toe-block ? To give this truck more rear toe-in?
I made an aluminium toe-block ( hand made ) and it gave my truck somewhere around 4,5 degree of toe in.

I have tested it on medium / high bite outdoor dirt track and I have the feeling the truck will catch grip a few yards sooner when coming out of corner and going WOT coming up on the straight away.

ofpower steering into corner is also more controlable.

in all I have the feeling the truck can be pushed a bit harder and still remain predictable.

The guy at the track shop said it's a crap shoot. One 1258 will have no issues with the rx8 and another one will. I got lucky I guess

Old school JR synthesized tx & rx with a novak cap. Never had an issue with the airtronics servo that I broke the casing on mid race... that's the only reason I bought the savox, it was about all they had for my application and I wanted to race the main.

Maybe it was for the best, I have the CC ext. BEC now and the esc is running about 10° cooler.

I was hoping that AE would make a hopup (or someone else) using replaceable inserts so you can adjust the toe-in, etc. that way.
