I've read about 75 pages and haven't found my answer yet and reading another 100+ pages, well I really don't have the time for it while I'm at work

FDR - Is a lower number faster or is a higher number? I know the math to get to that number, but what does it mean exactly?

Thanks

One point I want to speak to is the belt skipping issue under heavy brakeing. I have found you can run the belt pretty loose but you have to pay close attention to how much breaks you are running. The RX8 and 550 motors can generate alot of braking force. I have found the best practice is to turn your endpoint down until you cannot hear the belt skip under full throttle to full break (say at the end of a front staight...) I found this setting to be the perfect amount of breaks without locking up the wheels. I was on medium traction track at the time.

Just my thoughts...
I found this to be true also. I adjusted my driving style to avold full stab of the brake after full throttle. More of a easy roll on the brakes will not skip the belt and I can run a looser setting.

a lower fdr will give a higher top speed.

numerically lower fdr will give you a faster top speed and less acceleration.

Well... I've got the following in my kit and I'm not even finished yet:
- One bad diff. One cross pin was way too long, about one mm longer than the other and was almost impossible to get out. Oh, and the diffs had no oil.
- I missed one 12mm screw for the shock tower assembly. Instead I got a 16mm.
- On one side of the pre-assembled front suspension they had mixed the 12mm and 14mm screws going through the spindle into the hub and the A-arm.
- One of the shock rod ends was not screwed on straight and the threads in the rod end was nearly stripped.
- Two shocks had no thread lock and one shock spring is bent rubbing the shock body severely.

I had pre-ordered the kit so I guess I got one from the first batches. I'm not too impressed by the quality control... Why pre-assemble things when they can't do it right?

Ya know what cool is, a lot of guys are saying they've never run a 4wd sct and they are tq'ing and winning or taking one of the top spots in their FIRST RACE.

Guys imagine when we really figure out how to dial in these trucks..

At my nearest track, me and my buddy took TQ and 2nd, with a 1-2 finish. I've never raced offroad before (unless you count Rally) and he's never raced period (but has bashed the heck out of his 1/8th scale buggy.)

We put his truck side by side with his Losi 8ight... they were nearly identical in dimensions. Just went to further my belief that these "1/10th" scale trucks are truly caught in between 1/10th and 1/8th scale, and therefore deserve a motor that is also caught in between....

All depends on the track. With some of the top companies getting into 4x4 SC the amount of drivers goes up, which brings in some guys that could win driving a shoe box.

While at some tracks, like mine, where their seems to be a sponsored driver everywhere you look, the same people who've been in the class a while have been winning. Nothing has changed here. Same people up front. Losis and about two Hypers.

ThunderbirdJunkie noticed his belt skips when spooling the truck up (going wide open, wheels off the ground) and smashing the brakes with the wheels unloaded. Granted that's with an MM, CC 1410 3800, and brake set to 100%. Didn't even consider using the EPA for brakes...ThunderbirdJunkie has only ever used EPA for steering, and for throttle (servo) on nitro cars.

Exactly.

Yeah, but yours was a box stock setup with no wheeltime, vs a bunch of guys that have had months to figure out their trucks, right?

FWIW, I took the time to check one day and the SC10 both 2wd and 4wd are as close to an exact 1/8th scale as you can get, using the TORC online rule book and AE's website for dimensions. They probably called them 1/10th scale because the 2wd's and 4wd's to a point use 1/10th scale electronics. Easier marketing..

2mm sway bars all around made a ton of difference car is easier to drive and very predictable

Made the clicker tight but work when braking hard and will have less stress to the belt
The clicker also makes the car turn in fast and smooth
Love how it runs but getting hot with 540 6.5 running 10 mins temp was 160s
Very happy with how it runs will see this sat if It can compete
