2 Stage pistons
25w oil front
22.5w oil rear

Blue springs up front and either green/white fronts in rear

24mm or possibly 23mm ride height front/rear

Orange swaybar front, either blue/yellow rear

Running FT slipper setup with garodisc pads and exotek inner hub that locks the front...........

5k rear diff and 10k front diff

-2 camber rear/front with a little toe in on the front..

Here is a video of the track and its latest layout, any other tips advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.......

Copy to the letter Cody's new JConcept set-up .

Its the
best set-up available for track conditions you are running on .

Works for me & some of the best drivers I know ....

Just a quick question.

I have a quick question maybe you guys can help me with. I currently have my sc10 4x4 setup with all rcshox upgrades. My question is i am running a pro4 4600 with a tekin rx8 and it is fast and my lap times are good but i drove my brothers losi the other day with the same motor but a mmp esc and his truck seemed to have instant acceleration compared to mine. Is it my c-diff slipping to keep the truck straight or something else. Any ideas would be great thanks.

How many pins are you using in the center diff?

So I was just looking at a few different saddle packs and was wondering if the 4500 Venom saddles with 50c discharge might hold up in a 7-8 min main running a tekin rx8 and 4600

I had 8 but just went to 4 because my track was dry and blown out.

Hey Guys! hoping to get some recommendations and suggestions as its been a few months since I've had a chance to get back to racing thanks to work and family obligations.

Anyway, I have a standard SC10 4x4 and I remember a few months back that I still needed to make more improvements on the truck to get it handling better. It has the RCShox garodiscs which worked well enough with my Tekin 4600 motor & RX8 Esc. Diff oil up front is 30K and the Rear has 5K. I use stick packs and it has the RPM arms on it along with the Fast Lap Products chassis brace. I did noticed a hairline crack in the rear right where the brace screws into (above the motor) so I decided to get the Associated FT Upgrade Kit since I am doing a tear-down to update and replace a few things. Another option part I decided to install was a new Exotek chassis to help the truck feel more planted on some of the loose tracks that I visit.

Seems many are now using the 8mm hub mod. Are there any other optional ugrades to help this truck feel more planted on loose but big outdoor off-road tracks? Any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated as I try to get this truck back towards the top of our Club races which are just dominated by Losi and Durango SC trucks...

Thanks!

Anyone? :weird: ANYONE?!

Again, thanks!

I tried the 8mm last sunday and for some reason, the truck felt less stable. I went back to 5mm and it handled better again. I guess the amount of spacers depends on the track.
I currently run the FT setup for the shocks (35 fr, 30 r, yellow springs all around).. anyone know why the RTR/Kit have blue springs or at least blue fronts instead?
And why AE went up with the oils, when everyone seems to go down instead?

Definately depends on track you are on. Was the 8mm used on the hub or the tower or both. From what I have seen 8mm at the hub is now standard and people are just adjusting inner ballstud height for different grip or tracks. Higher weight oils usually go hand in hand with stiffer springs and the stiffer springs for more forward weight bias with FT saddle packs would be my guess.

I had 7mm on the inside, ~6-7mm on the outside (I use a selfmade extension, cut from an old Slash chassis.. the nut sits directly on top of the rear hub carriers).

I agree with you , use the 7mm shim under inside chassis stud
with med high grip & 5mm if loose .A important tuning option .

Blue Spring

Original kits came built & tuned to use blue, Factorys drivers later changed and went to yellow springs....

oil's
always new set-up developments coming from the Ae Team.

New set-ups
run no overdrive , locked up ft clicker & new Team steering rack.

Main reason the thicker diff oils is now recommended when using Team set-ups..

Arakon 06-18-2012 12:55 PM

I meant the shock oils. I run overdrive in the front and like how it handles.

JLinney 06-18-2012 01:07 PM

Are you running front clicker locked down with VTS slipper and what are your diff oil weights?

V2 center dif is great on the loose stuff, also try the front blues or whites in the rear.
