I just finished building mine . Thanks to all who have posted here you have given many people immeasurable help . Coming from a 1/8 scale nitro background it was a little tricky building much different then an 1/8 scale buggy or truggy . I ran into the same issues as many Diffs very low on fluid , and three shock piston retaining screws loose and unloctited . Also was missing the wheel nuts which was allright as I used Slash serrated ones . I am running an Airtronics 94359 servo , Tekin RX8 speed control , and a Novak 4.5 550 can . Diff fluids are 5000 front and rear . Shock oil 25 wt in the rear , 30 wt in the front , and clicker locked ( wanted to try the box setup before I changed anything ) AKA Enduro super soft front and rear . Will be giving it a shake down tomorrow again thanks for the help .

Has anyone else noticed that the front track width is narrower than the rear? Or that Losi SCTE shocks are VERY similar to the Associated's? Like nearly identical?

This truck may just have too many problems out of the box for me to have patience fixing...and I"m sort of an Associated fan-boy and have been for years...

Third day out in a row. Race day. My instincts told me as I looked at my B4 before walking out the door, that I should have that stacked on top of my roller and not the SC. But I just had to find out if the changes I made were going to help...or not.

Or not was the right answer.

First, went to the overdrive pulley, improved exit steering quite a bit.

Second, my sway bars made an improvement. But I'm going to bend up some 2.5mm bars for this really smooth clay track.

Third, there is a mystery binding in the rear that I just read someone else shares. Gotta free that up.

Fourth, this truck laughs at 10000 weight dif fluid. put some 30000 in and there was the biggest improvement. I will note that this is a known solution and I'm going to go even heavier. 15 screws to get to the dif, what a crock...

Fifth, Track owner and local setup master, noted that the roll center on this truck was in his opinion, ridiculously high. Both ends.

Sixth and final, I drove a damn out of the box SCTE that drove better than my Associated that I've spent three aggravating days trying to improve enough to actually race.

Though I now feel I should have bought the Losi, I"m not done being the last 5 feet of Asc's assembly room. There's a good truck in the somewhere.

There have been a few moments where I thought this truck was just a Chinese knock off of what team associated used to be. I remember 12 years ago when you slapped the ole fActory team t3 together and she was ready to roll and win races. Though I had no problems during assembly and all parts fitted well. There is just too many things involved in tuning this hog. I've hated losi since that day 15 years ago when Gil losi told me no he was too damn busy to shake my hand. But I gotta tell ya. I've been considering the scte myself.

I still have both a short and long chassis T3 in the closet...and we're on the same page.

You'll get it dialed....its just has to be a decent truck. I refuse to believe it will not give the Losi's good competition.

I am bummed for ya though....well maybe just a little.

Hey farmer............I understand the grief to a small degree. I ran the truck for the second track day today............tq'd and won the main. I am not happy with the tuning yet though. The rear end has a tendency to snap around suddenly. I am hoping the sway bars will fix that. I thickened the front shock oil and the front diff as well. I am tempted to go to a really heavy weight like you. The heaviest thing around here is black diff grease.....which is what I used. I am still running the underdrive but am tempted to go back to the regular drive.

I really like the way she jumps.....fairly flat and predictable. My drivetrain seems to be good as well. I ran a 10 minute main and the motor came off at about 110 degrees. One thing I found that helped a LOT is using the radio to tune out the steering sensitivity. It made it very controllable, especially since our track is a tad slick.

I am following this thread and am sure we can make this thing work.

Default SC10 Set up question

I took my sc10 to the track today for the first time and am wanting to know what everyone is doing for there suspension set up. I'm running the castle 3800, MMP and proline Caliber M3 soft tires. I set it up per the no sway bar setup on the rc10 page. The truck did have a lot of traction rolls and the back came around sometimes. This is a outdoor dirt track that was dusty. What shock oil is everyone running? I also have 5000 wt oil in the front and rear diffs. thanks

MMP/3800 geared at 20/93. Front diff at 50,000, rear at 5000. 35/30 shocks. Front sway bar is heaviest bar from a T4/B4 sway set. No rear bar yet. Indoor, clay, high grip. Fast and glued, no weird stuff. Thick front diff helps pull the rear straight, is my understanding. DD's up front, barcodes rear.

BINGO" But it is both CG and roll center is way to high on the SC10
4x4 just like it was on the RC10/MIP 4x4, but back then we had heavy
NIMH batteries to help the CG a bit.

The Losi SCTE has both low CG and low roll center and if you drive the two
of them back to back even a novice driver can feel the difference between
the two.... I guess they didn't have any novice or higher drivers test the
SC10 4x4 before they released it.... LOL"LOL"

IMO the SC10 4x4 feels like a monster truck whalowing around corners
and the SCTE feels like a Ferrari around corners nice, flat & fast.

I like you have not give up on the SC10 4x4 though, it took me along time
to give up on the RC10/MIP 4x4 25 years ago also...

Wouldn't the sc10 4x4 be to much for a 1406 to handle and stay cool?

That's why the question...a 4600 4 pole shouldn't be that bad ITBJHO.
