Hey guys. So I decided to sell my SCTE and try out the FT Sc10 4x4. So far i love the truck. I have a few questions though. I am having a hard time get the truck around the track. Always traction rolling. We run on a very high bite track. Will the 8mm mod help me with the traction rolling?

yes will help , already mass posts & pictures how to do pages back...

you state to add 7mm under ball stud but looks like you have 5

SOuthernFRIED 05-25-2012 10:16 AM

I think that is an old pic. I can tell you from personal experience 7mm is better than 5.

That's an old pic if I'm not mistaken.

The more the merrier. I'm only at 4mm myself. Been too busy to tune it to my liking.

Can you use the plastic c-hub towers (ASC9872) . I don't have my sc104x4 it in front of me to confirm.

Definitely need to parse the 8mm hub mod info more, just not getting the benefit of going high on the hub versus what I am already doing under the inner ball stud.

Those are what I was looking at myself but hear mixed reviews.

SOuthernFRIED 05-25-2012 11:17 AM

They have been working out fine for me. I can't swear to the exact height above stock they are, but 3 races on them so far and all is well.

Just curious, but what have you heard bad about them?

Farmer_John 05-25-2012 11:22 AM

With some regrets, I must admit to falling out of love with my SC104x. The divorce just became final and she's moving out tomorrow. I may come back to another one some day, but for now, I will survive. I..will....survive.

Oh, I don't think my other cars or the nitro sedan that just moved in will mind...

slop issue was the primary thing but didn't seem consistent.

I see.. I can't say how these will hold up in the long run, but out of the package they fit very well, and i'm really pleased with them.

I run them.

The bad.

The bearings are machined too close together so the axle moves back and forth some. Easy fix - a 10mm shim in the bearing hole before the bearing goes in.

The stock black spacers are too big around and hit the hub. You can over tighten the pin and bind the hub in the arm. Easy fix - use smaller diameter spacers.

Other than that I like them. My custom camber location tabs are endless with this set-up.

Do you know the height of the upper mounting holes on the tabs that come with them compared to stock?

sorry to hear you go, gonna miss your posts LOL.

I'm still keeping mine. I'm actually thinking about getting a 4wd buggy to add to the stable.

If I remember right it was close to 4mm taller. The lower holes are stock.
