Have any of you had a problem like this? Would the lightweight top shaft be more prone to bending than the non factory team version? A little more info, the truck is new, I did the build, and this is the forth track day with it and around 10-12hrs drive time with it. Any help is appreciated.

Marcus or Cameron, have you heard of anyone bending the top shaft that might be attributed to overtightening the nut on the cd or do you think this could be attributed to overtightening the nut?
This happened to me when installing the V1 center diff. I couldn't get the spring pressure tight enough. If you over tighten the spring fully compresses. When this happens the spring is not perfectly stright when fully compressed and will bend the top shaft. What I found my problem to be was my stock spring was sacked out even though not that old. I replaced the spring with the FT V2 slipper spring and all was fine. I was able to bend the top shaft back to being straight as it was only slightly bent.

Default Exotek Chassis and White Front Springs in the rear

I finally got my hands on the updated Exotek chassis last week. I was eager to try but it has been out of stock for a while. I also have been reading about the use of front springs in the rear. I didn't initially buy into this as I did try rear yellow springs as well as rear red springs. I didn't like these as compared to the rear blues I had been running. That being said, who am I to knock it without trying it out so I installed a set of white front springs on the rear shocks. The combo of my setup with the Exotek chassis, blue front springs in the front and white front springs in the rear was much better. The shorter front spring in the rear just feels more progressive without feeling too stiff. The truck jumps easier with the stiffer rear springs as well.

I raced my SC10 4x4 yesterday for the first time since I put the Exotek chassis on the truck. It handled like a dream BUT not matter what I tried I could not get it to be recognized by the scoring loop. I tried 2 different transponders and even took it out of the receiver box (where I have always placed them). There was a Durango there that also had scoring issues. Thing in common - metal chassis. Anyone else experienced anything like that. I put my Losi in for the main and it scored every lap, trans was in the box on it too.

Just curious if anyone else has seen a strange issue like that.

Because the connector in the battery may be smaller in the proteck there for making a better connection, as in tight not loose, IMHO the statement is true.

Seems all these posts about slipper pads only confirms the Ae VTS has really rocked the O slipper boat ....
I guess to me it just confirms that AE had an issue with there original slipper design and this fixes it.

WOW. That is dirty. Out here we can get conditions like that when they water. Gave up running a very nice mid motor 2wd SCT because it had no inner tray option.

I raced mine with the updated Exotek Sat and had the same scoring issues. I moved the transponder to a spot just above where the front of the brace mounts for the main and everything scored as it should. Seems sitting against the metal chassis causes some sort of interference.

On another note truck was the best it has been!

Default Trackstar o-rings

Hi,
I use 2 in each shock with the cartridge fully tightened.
The same feeling with 2 trackstar o-rings compared to the tip in the new FT manual. They sugest to only use the upper x ring.
Page 24 in the FT manual, middle of page.

Tryed to add a shortcut to the FT manual but not allowed...????

Have been running 2 trackstar o-rings in each shock on two cars for a couple of months with good result.
Same performance as the FT manual suggests but less leakage compared to one upper x-ring. (If the cartridge is just slightly loose)
If you fully tighten the cartridge you will get binding with the upper x-ring only method.
If you use the lower x-ring only and fully tighten the cartridge, then the x-ring will not kompress and cause quit a bit of leakage.

Trackstar o-rings is my favorite.

/H

My RCSHOX.COM equipped SC10 took the top podium spot this weekend.

Nasty, underwatered, rough, big 1/8 track. Ran my 2-stage pistons and the truck felt great. You could see the suspension working big time and the body would just stay level.

Even the Losi's couldn't keep up......hahahahaha

I've run my transponder mounted to the front clip just to the left of the steering servo. Works fine and doesn't interfere with the steering linkage unless your servo case is too big.

If I based my opinion off of personal failure rate, I would have to say that Reedy packs are the worst, since that is the only pack I have ever had fail in any sort of noteable fashion. I simply know this to not be true....

Also, you can't say that the pro-tek endured the exact same current draw at the same time, in the same pattern, with the same physical shock from landings as the Turnigy.

I'm not saying that Turnigy batteries are as good as every other battery out there....I just think that your comments are more emotion based than fact based. (When I lost my Reedy pack, after only one summer of racing, I was pretty upset too, so I feel your pain.)
