The Orion 5500 90C saddles are some of the best out there if your looking to spend top dollar. The Turnigy Nano-tech are the best low-priced that I've tried others seem to like the 6000mah gens aces as well.

In any case, if your looking to buy batteries just for this truck I would go with the saddles for sure, but if you need to share the battery with other models there are good stick pack options as well, you just lose some balance and it reduces the ability to rotate on a tight 180

I was given a Lipo battery by a buddy that works and the performance is kinda boring.. So Orion saddle is the one to go for. Thank you!

How about shocks, sways and all the other upgrades..

Does anybody use the Max-Amps? I have two pair of the 6000 2s but haven't broken them in yet. They're not hard cased, but are the same dimensions as the Venom packs that I have. I realize that the hard case is required for ROAR racing, but I live in Victoria B.C. Canada, so I was thinking that wouldn't make a difference up here.

Jay.

I have had great experiences with the hvr 60c 5300 saddles as well as the hvr stick packs. No issues after running them for a year.

hey jay, nice to see someone local interested in this truck........seems like no clubs on the island care about running hard case batterys for racing, however, i have run both saddles and stick packs in my truck, and there is minimal difference. Do you plan to come race in nanaimo any time during the summer?

I run hard-cased for my own benefit. I've seen too many planes crash and burn after lawn-darting into the ground. I've got $800 worth of equipment rolling on that truck and I would cry to see it all get destroyed due to a lapper t-boning me.

I use them, and I honestly believe them to be the best batteries I have ran. I have used most of the batts available and time after time the Maxamps deliver the same punch all through the cycle. Then I plug them into my Hyperion and charge them at 20 amps without a hiccup. Try that with any other battery available and see how it works out. The Maxamps don't need to be broken in, only ran, and don't go below 3.2 volts per cell. Store them with 70% charge and they will last you for years.

I am running my SC 10 4x4 on an indoor carpet track and the motor has been getting super hot. My gearing is 62/11 which seems appropriate. Is there anythign else that it could be?

Also, what is the proper setting for the front clutch?

JEFFs SC10 04-29-2012 08:25 AM

11 is too small, I'd go to 14 or 13.

Depends. What motor?

Either totally locked up (no clicker) or two turns out (clicker).

Many users apply CA to the clicker so when the nut backs off you don't lose the whole thing. User Oasis pitted next to me last night and had his back off.

I know of no one who has successfully used the clicker in any situation, but I guess there is a first.

Strenuously disagree. You can't make a blanket statement like that without knowing what motor he has!
