if the dimensions I am seeing are correct:

Novak GTB2: 29.5 x 37.3 x 24.6 mm

in comparison to my ESC:

Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro: 43mm (L) x 35mm (W) x 24mm (H)

I don't see why it wouldn't. you can even mount the fan too I would think as my ESC fits with room to spare.

On another note, just built a factory team up yesterday, and was a pleasure to build-again! Can't wait to try her out today... my current sc104x4 is dialed and this one will be the race-only rig

Default Exotek Chassis with FT Saddle pack setup

With the FT version its just a tab you slide in place to hold the strap down. So IMO the FT version is better since its alot easier to get the lipo's in and out.......
I finally got a chance to try this , looks like mounting holes line up.
As someone else already mentioned, you would need spacers and longer screws for the taller packs. That is no different than the Exotek Posts.
I was looking forward to using the FT parts since the one piece brace does look easier to remove.

It won't work with my configuration as I have the RX8 under the belt and the FT battery bracket has much more material so the corners won't clear the ESC. I'm sure it could be adapted but I don't want to do any more cutting.
Going to pass the parts on to my buddy who was debating switching to saddles.
Hope this info helps.

I'm a newb but pretty much a daily reader, appreciate all the info shared here.

I made my own out of plastic.
Cut strips, cut to different heights on each end, and label.
Quick and easy to use and doesn't take up any room in my tool box.

Why buy a ride height tool for $15 when you can make your own ride height templates for about a $1?

I use scrap trimmings from bodies and write the height on it with a Sharpie.

I would either trim the FT battery straps to make the rx8 fit , or go to b44 saddles or use the rcshox one.

I know the rcshox one will clear having an rx8 from personal experience.

so who's running their rigs this weekend? I'm going to practice tomorrow and see if I can figure out what my brownout issue is.

possible club race on Sun.

okay don't flame me I did a search but this thread is massive. Thinking of going back to 4wd short course and I just traded off my scte. I only run at a semi tight indoor track. I didn't want to shell out for all new electronics for now. will a 5.5 540 novak push this thing around the track for the time being or would I just be wasting my time trying?

Should work fine, someone else who runs it I'm sure will comment, truck is light compared to the others.

The 540 size 5.5t motors seem to have 7400kv, which is way, way high.. not enough torque for a 4WD of this weight. It'd run hot cause you can't get a pinion small enough to work for this.

now to factory team or not, I really don't want to buy saddle packs, just for club racing. only a couple decent drivers usually show anyways. Pretty sure the rest could be beat with a stock slash 4x4

Well guys took the FT SC10 4x4 to the track today, spent 5hrs there and ran all three of my 6000mah gens ace saddle's today to test out the new slipper setup. All's I can say is that I didn't have to adjust anything all day. I didn't even try to dial it in (ride height, camber, etc) I just ran it the way I built it........... I did put 7k front diff with 5k rear, the only downside is all of my shocks leaked trying to run emulsion style so I will either be buying trackstar orings or going back to bladder. I had 27.5w front and 25w rear, I am going to prob. go back to bladder and drop the oil weight in front and rear some.

The FT chassis brace held up just fine, I was actually nose diving alot, and towards the end of the day I basically had no shock oil left lol......... I don't know if its because I switched from a 4000kv pro4 to a 4600kv pro4 but like stated earlier I did not have to mess with the slipper setup at all. I will break it down in a bit and see if the pads got glazed or not......... I know one thing I'm loving the FT setup with saddles and the new clutch setup thus far......

I run a 540 Novak Ballistic. It is a 6.5 turn with a 14mm tuning rotor. It comes off at 145° after a 6 minute race geared at 18/93. When traction is high it will pull wheelies even with the current limiter set to 80% power. I run it with a Viper VTX10r, no boost.
