For starters if you install the optional steering arm you will probably want to also order 6mm ball studs. The 8mm ball studs that you are probably running currently may stick out the top of the arm and rub on the chassis.

The two positions on the optional steering arm will change the ackermann. You can read about ackermann if you Google it. In a nutshell, if you connect your turnbuckles to the rear most setting you will have less steering and if you connect to the front you will have more steering. This truck already has a lot of steering. I have not tested the optional steering arm, just installed it last night, but I am guessing the rear most setting will be preferred by most. I also believe that's how the FT manual shows it as their "default" configuration. It will ultimately be personal preference and based on the track layout you are running.

Now the experts on this thread can correct me if I provided any mis-information.

By less steering is that turning radius or the responsiveness?

I believe it's going to translate to responsiveness. On my truck the steering will easily go all the way left and right to the point the steering spindle will hit the front arm. As a matter of fact I set my the steering end point to something slightly less than 100%. So, I am getting the same turning radius regardless of the position on the steering rack.

I generally make adjustments to responsiveness through both the position on the steering rack (previously used ACKBAR) and the dual rate settings. Certainly there are other changes that can impact steering such as the differential fluid you run, but I know you already know that part as you have been on this forum for a while.

Thanks!
Do the holes on the ackbar correspond with the holes on the FT rack?

Well, I did line them up before I installed it, but sadly I don't remember off the top of my head exactly how they lined up. I believe the front holes were closer to the stock RTR steering rack. The ackbar has four settings, while the AE optional steering rack has two settings. So, there is more adjustability in the ackbar. If memory serves, and it probably doesn't, the rear most holes on the optional steering arm are probably close to the second to rear most on the ackbar. I should have lined them up when they were both off the truck and taken a picture. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.

Totally strapped. I'm going to donate some pallet rack for a drivers' stand if some meth head hasn't scrapped it for me already.

Finally I'll be able to test out the FT slipper setup at my local indoor track tomorrow...... I'm psyched to see how it performs as well how it handles with saddle pack setup......... Will post my review when I get home........

Default FT Team Ackerman bar

The FT ackerman is wider than the original sc10 kit, also places the balstud higher so there is no interference with the pivot arm. No grinding away.
The geometry is similar to the b4/t4/sc10 bar.

So do they have you shim up the ball on the steering block to compensate for the inner being higher?

So.. What is the difference between the old and updated rear shock tower? I haven't had any issues with mine and I'm running no mods at all. Been in the top 5 in all of my races with it. The only thing I do want is a chassis brace.

My hope is this results in fewer broken servo savers.

Beef'd around the joint for the Chassis Brace. Stocker would snap off on the first lawn dart.

Actually, we did away with the membership program and just lowered all of the prices for everyone. Exotek now has a MAP price on the chassis though. Sold the last one last night, they are 2-3 weeks out. They are doing a slight re-design to them so they will also work on the Factory Team kits with thier B44 saddle pack mounts better.

Also, we will be stocking Associated 1/10 kits and all of the parts in about 2 weeks as part of our expansion project. Have been working around the clock to get the parts added to the site.

Default Trinity motor

First off, let me put this out there. Not every part in the world is running more Losi. Here in Canada we will have 70/20 % Associated Losi field. I've gone ahead and bought my motor for My truck this year, switching form a SCX 6.5 550 Tekin to a Trinity quad 4800. Any idea on a good gear start?
