hey all. ive been on order for the f.t. since back in january and even though it seams to have been delayed a week or two i need to start thinking on it.
ive seen where there has been talk about the weight bias/balance (not sure the word for front to rear) and the nose up in jumps deal due to the location of the motor. ive seen the counter to some of that is some have used a 540 motor (and successfully) or the tekin 4 pole motor.

but then it dawned on me. has anyone seen this ft in person at any races yet (im not lucky enough to be regionally positioned to see one of these new ones yet) is the saddle pack that a.e. done moved the batts forward enough to counter the weight of a 550 motor? or should i keep on the plan for a 540 motor for weight. its an indoor track maybe 60-70 foot strait.

The problem is (or was) the rear springs are too soft. You can fix it by simply running stiffer rear springs.

I think the truck handles better with the 540 motor, but like Rick Howart wrote a couple of days back, if the track has a big double or triple coming out of a tight corner, you're kind of stuck running the 550.

I would seriously think about the Sidewinder SCT 3800 system. It will fit your needs well and it's very affordable. Castle has decent customer service if you have a problem.

You should only have to solder the battery connector on.

$135 to the door, w/ the $5 off coupon and a free t-shirt.... Sounds like a winner.....

I agree. If I wasn't hung up on sensored motors, I'd run one of these. Just don't run a Savox servo with it!

Default savox

Why not run castle system with savox servo.
I already a Savox 1257 (from memory can't see buried in truck) and was looking another motor. Currently have hobbywing 10 turn and was thinking of geting a system with a bit more power.
do they play up without BEC or ?? or do i get castle or similiar motor and keep hobbywing 70a esc.

the BECs on the castle ESCs generally cannot handle a Savox servo.

Savox seems to draw more current than their more expensive counterparts, so you end up with brown-outs and glitching when running castle ESCs with Savox servos.

I think the Castle ESCs mostly have a 3A BEC, where the Tekin RX8 is more like 5A, and the savox servos have a stall amp rating higher than 3A, so they'll keep drawing current past the abilities of your ESC's BEC

The worst combo is the castle esc/ savox servo/ and spektrum rx.

If this is you.

Best case, use the $5 cap.

Worst case, use the $20 bec.

Let's not over complicate this. I'm hoping we can help Vito get a move on, with his project....

Yeah, this.

One of the guys we race with has an SC10 and the "worst combo" combo. I loaned/gave him a receiver pack I had around and that fixed his glitching problem.

Thanks for the props!

In my world, the crew chief is usually mad at driver for being a scrub rather than the other way around.

I have 100K but never used it (I use it for king pin lube sometimes on my oval car) and I've ran 60K. I quit because users reported breaking either outdrives or CVA's, so I went to 30K. I think I'm the only one left who's running it that heavy.
