I always wanted to know this too... I seen a couple of pro drivers cars that had all the paint stripped off. Is there another reason other than not wanting the competitors to know what springs ur running????

I would rather someone just look at my car to know what I was running than to ask me and have to make up a lie. But then again, I dont like talking to people either.

after stripping your springs, take your dremel and "mark" them on the end.

one mark = orange
two marks = blue
three marks = green

and so forth

I don't think it has anything to do with not wanting people to know - I think some people just don't care for the funky colors some springs have. I used to dye my Losi springs with black RIT dye. They looked very cool. Especially with the gold shock shafts. You could scrape the bottom of the spring with an x-acto knife and still see a little bit of the color for reference. Lately, however, I just became too lazy and just run the colors again.

put a small piece of tape around one end, dye them black with rit dye then peel tape off and you have a small area with spring color.

It is mainly for looks.. I didn't think red springs would look good on the front of this buggy.. Red doesn't go good with blue and yellow. I think I will just end up dyeing the red springs that are supposed to go on the front of this buggy black.
