NICE! yeah I have been wanting to head to that track in Modesto but I think they are running ROAR rules. I wont even attempt to run this thing on 2s with my turnigy batts. Until get a better 2s higher than 30c I'm stuck with 3s. Also I need a transponder I think. I'm strictly bashin right now man. One of these days I'll head out there. More than likely I'll head to south sacramento...a guy that works at RC Country opened a track.

Anyone know exactly what grease is stock in the diffs? I put all new gears and Chris pins in with Losi black grease. This grease seems much lighter than what is stock. My tryck is wicked loose now, almost undriveable. Stock grease and it was dialed.

Now let me advise. DO NOT unshim these diffs. The weak pot metal needs to be fully engaged. As most eight 2.0 drivers including Adam Drake do we take the shims out. It makes for a more free diff. I have never had a problem on the buggys because the material is strong unlike these. Again I am not mad they stripped I'm mad there are none effin available. I am a racer I break stuff. Then I'm am supposed to be able to pay and replace.
Sorry, I diden't try to start any gay "online" crap for you, I was just asking. Because I ordered the "chrispins" @ the same time I ordered the truck. I will remember not to "unshim" the diffs. Thanks for the info.

Do I was looking at the Tekin SCT motors and was wondering if anyone has tried the 2.5t or the 3.5t? Or maybe the 4.5t with the 14mm HT rotor? Will the rotor make a diff in temps? Seems like if peeps are running hot with the 4.5 and 5.5(not everyone I know but some are), the 2.5 or 3.5 would be a better fit. Am I wrong with this logic? Don't know much about the Tekin line up sorry. I only own castle but Salad has got me thinking hard about some Tekin stuff lol. I need to get my 1410 caslte to the track still only about 3mins on it. Seemed to heat up kinda quik maybe the 16 tooth is a bit high. need to order a smaller 13 or 14 tooth I think. My 2650 on the other hand runs cool as ice, and fast as lightning.

Quick question 4 anyone. I'm putting one of these trucks together, and I ordered a tekin rx8 and a tekin sc4 550 motor.(5.5) Whats a good size pinion to run on large, fast, loose outdoor size tracks? Without going nuts and overheating anything? I'll be using the "gens ace" 7.4v 5000mah 40cpacks.

Not sure about the lower turns, I do have a 3.5 SP 550 that rips, but gets very hot.

And honestly unless you have a little cash to burn, keep the 3800kv 4 pole in there. I do like the Tekin but if I had to choose it would be the 3800 with the RX8.

I'm actually thinking about trying the 3800 on a RS Pro just to see. My RX8 has been worry free but I am picking up the other truck and am in the middle of trying to pick a combo to test. I will have one fat bish and one skinny bish in my stable.

Yes that is to what I am referring to.
I have ran it both on 2s and 3s. On my slash 4x4 I ran 2s mostly for racing, on the SCTE I like the 3s. I use a GensAce 3s 40c5000mah, it's a great battery. I sold all my 2s lipo as I figured I wouldn't need them then I picked a castle 3800 and I think 3s is a bit much for that motor. At least with the pinions I have. 16 17 18 tooth for now, I had all mod .8 before so I have to rebuild my collection. I can't wait till the out door season starts here and I get to run the 1512 on the 1/8th scale track. It does fly with the 18 tooth pinion and 40 tooth spur it goes about 43 MPH which is as fast as I want to go. I might go throw the GPS on the 3800 to see what she's doin for top end not that it really matters but I have nothing else to do during the week lol.

start at 15 check temps and work your way up. Everyones version of large is different. 15 would be a good start. Ive seen a few running 18.

I run my SCTE on a MMM 2650 motor on 3s and honestly its about the same as a 550 motor if they run 2s. The only advantage i have is it stays nice and cool. I did run it on 4s during practice just for fun and it was pulling wheelies down the entire straight lol
