Sweet, Thanks for the update! I just bought 3 sets of diffs, that should hold me out till the production truck gets here. I do need the 8ight turnbuckles. I took a spill in the a-main last weekend and bumped my steering camber off, I was trying to adjust trim and hold on to 2nd, that was funny. I got beat by my one of my teammates with his XXX SCT

I also ordered the adjustable aluminum hing pin holders f/r and rear hubs plus more drive cups which I am going to attempt to harden myself. Keep the goodies coming, I got money burning holes in my pockets.

Chris can I harden the pins also? Same way as the drive cups?

They are on the water as of the 25th of January...so, just depends on whether it was on the slow boat or the fast one, lol. That and customs.

Hey I am more than happy with this car. As a Ten T I beat the crap out of it and only broke one part, mind you this is running 4s with a XERun150a and a castle 22oo.

As for the cups, they held up to the abuse just fine.

First thing that happened when this guy came out was someone made it electric. Second was a Short Coarse truck. Now Losi is answering the needs and making these an actual production...

Right on!

I can't wait to race the other e-buggies with it this season, as well as the other SC 4x4s with this guy!

We are always working hard to make the best product. It is certainly not our intent to bring anything out that has known issues. We have done a lot of testing and are working on making more and more upgrade parts for the serious racer as well. There is a large list of hop ups already for this. Keep in mind please that wear and tear does occur...and nothing will last forever. Although mine made it for about 6 months before replacing anything, haha.

I heard the shipment of Ten-SCTe's are being escorted by the Sea Shepard.

And anyone who orders directly from Horizon will be pleased. I ordered about 300 bux in parts before a 11:30 meeting today and when I got out, they already had it packaged up and waiting for Fed Ex. I just now checked it's already on a truck to me. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks for that type of service. Kudos HH and the Losi boys!

Ok- want to go ahead and order the ESC and motor for this truck. I believe I do have to run 2s at my track for open SC. Leaning towards the Tekin RX8 and Tekin short course motor. My main question is would you get the 4.5 or 5.5 turn? I mainly will be running on a smaller, indoor, clay track. Thanks!!

I tested a few new ESC's motor combos last weekend and I ran the RX8 and Tekin 5.5 on 2S last weekend in the a-main... Was plenty fast and very efficient. I had the fast lap of the night and took 2nd in the main. Track size is 100x60 for the indoor. The Tekin 5.5 feels just as quick as the Novak 4.5 I have.

+ YouTube Video

The reason I went 5.5 was the ability to run 3S. In the summer I run on a 1/8th scale outdoor track with a 240ft strait. Even though it's a ROAR track the director lets open 4wd run what ever we want. I tested the motor and ESC on 3S in my Jammin and wow, even with a 10T pinion it was insane. Along with the 20+ minutes of run time.

No problem! I have tested quite a few 550's in the Losi so far and out of them all the 5.5 feels right at home. I honestly couldn't tell the difference from 4.5 Novak to 5.5 Tekin. I did swap ESC from the Viper VTraxR10 back to the RX8. The Viper felt way quicker on the top end versus the RX8 (but the VTrax10R isn't out yet).

Next weekend I am dropping the Castle 3800kv 4 pole and re-testing with a video. I had no idea so many would want to run the 4 pole in this truck. Hopefully they will understand after they see it in action why I said get a 550.

Bah I dont understand why newer batteries are limited to 1C. There are so many powerful chargers on the market right now. I wont buy a battery thats not at least 3C charge capable.

I would be able to charge a (3C charge capable) 6000mah 2S @ 18amps on my hyperion charger vs 6amps with this new Losi 60C lipo. Thats like an hour vs 20mins.

Can't wait to see your video. What gearing are you going to use on 2s. What esc?

Thanks

I believe it's more of a safety issue. High C batteries can take high charge rates by default due to the lower internal resistance. Keep in mind that faster charging decreases life span. With 2-3 packs, I don't really see the need to charge at these high rates imho.
