Thanks for posting this. I've been so busy making pins I haven't had time to run my truck. I barely had time to get it ready for the race this weekend.
How did the oil look? When I replaced the pins in mine the oil was black with ground up metal. I assumed most of it was from the gears breaking in.

My sc 10 pins are still fine. the drive cups, not so much.

Wow.. Those pins look killer!! I will be in for some of those if my new pins coming from Horizon have the same wear problem. Hopefully they will be better. 
However it is the gears that are an issue at the moment for me. My bevel gears are tooth free.. I thought about making a spool for the center diff so that I could use the guts for my rear diff..
So today, I did some digging around the shop and came up with what is still an untested but extremely promising fix, at least so far.. OFNA Hyper 10SC spider gears (small bevel gears). The OFNA uses a 4mm pin which is about .825mm too long on either end. With a little trimming on the pins, everything dropped right in and worked great, in my hand. I backed the gears up with 2 steel diff washers from a Kyosho MP9 behind each gear. No small bushing and no tiny washer. There is a very, very small amount of play on either side of the pin in the bore of the diff housing. I did make some bushings from some paper thin brass tubing I had in the shop but decided to test without it since the gap was so small and that the tubing was a pita to work with.. The gap may not exist on a new diff housing. IF for some reason that becomes an issue I have some shim stick I can shim it with, if need be. Sooooo if it works, I'll post some pics..

Gonna race my rebuilt truck for the first time on saturday. I raced it once out of the box and was highly impressed. I have not seen anyone using the setup that I am trying so I will post the results on Sunday. After the first race I pulled the truck down and installed diff oil and Chris pins. I am gonna be using the MMP, Tekin SC4X 7.5t, 12t pinion, 3s lipo 30c, futaba BLS351 servo and the new Airtronics MT-4 radio. From all of my experience this should be a great setup and should run cool as can be. Ambient temps should be in the high 70's Saturday in south Louisiana.

I have a set of cups so worn the drive pin disappears completely into a little hole it made for itself!! I had a guy mention my driveshaft threw a pin and I told him to turn the wheels backwards and "pop goes the weasel", there it appeared, lmao.

Hey guys,
I've had two reports of gears that are too tight to fit on the pins. If you run into this problem go to the hardware store and buy a #31 drill bit and run it through the gears to open them up to the proper clearance. The drill should follow the existing hole so it shouldn't be off center afterward.
