Cant really remember for sure but i think you just set it to user defined and enter the voltage cutoff you want and then it works fine.Not sure why it worked that way but it does.

Default SCTE 2.0 Conversion

Heya all,

I have been looking at doing the SCTE 1.0 -> 2.0 conversion pricing up parts and it isn't too bad...

If you exclude the chassis (more on this below), carbon towers (not strictly necessary), and motor mount (not necessary)
RRP = $USD56.90
Phils = $USD44.40

Then add the 2.0 chassis of your choice (TLR, BCE).

Where it got interesting is that I found my usual USA sites to have the TLR chassis >$USD100 (plus postage to Australia). BUT I found a place in Australia where they are selling for $AUD79.99. With the weakening of the AUD against the USD, you might find it cheaper to order from Down Under.

If you are interested in finding out where, post a reply and I will post the link.

Is that enough to steer this truck?

Savox or hitec.

Thanks for the info/help.
Thought I'd update. I ordered up a savox 1271sg. Perfect for 7.4, great speed .08 & tone of trq @ 347oz

that is a monster server. I am sure you will never want for more torque.

I have been using a Hitec 645mg ($30 at LHS) and it has been working fine for me. Admittedly I didn't have the budget for a "better" servo when I bought it, but in all honesty it has been holding up and is performing adequately so I can't yet justify replacing it.

This is my replacement servo. I was running a solar D71 er something, great budget servo er back up possibly,wouldn't recommend it for this truck. After a around 20 packs er so it was done as in play in horn which allowed around 1/8 er less extra play up front. At first I thought it was the screw. It wasn't.

I was able to get a great deal on this, I know it's more than enough for the truck, now I just need to figure out how much to turn it down at the TX.

Some guys use the tekin rx8 setups or Orion r8's. the thing is the scte is so heavy and some 1/10 set ups developed excessive heat. I use an lrp sphere tc spec with a reedy 550 4.5t in mine. Now I have the Mip kit on it now and wow

A lot of them like the Viper VTX8 that I run advertise them for 4x4 short course trucks as well as 1/8 scale. Viper is developing motors for them too. Can't wait. I ran an MMP before that with decent success too though.

Last meeting I took 3 from 3, broke my PB and took the lap record.

Since moving the motor and battery back I have broken my BP every meeting.
I had esc trouble so dropped my RX8 in it, I thought it was fast before but now it's just a bullet.

First 4x4 SCT under 32 seconds on our very bumpy outdoor track. .

Waiting for BCE or other chassis with just the motor relocation holes. Enough space for the third post for the Kingheadz motor mount or even better the hole drilled already and rear brace option holes.

Do you have pics from top and bottom?

BCE is just about to release a new chassis for 1.0 SCTE owners that moves the center diff back like the 2.0 but you can still use your 1.0 braces, steering servo receiver mount. It will have a updated battery mount lowering the center of gravity. I'll keep you posted or you can contact BCE direct. It will be a hot setup.

Heres what i noticed about the SCTE 1.0 with the flex chassis on carpet it seems to like having low ride height lower than 25mm or 26mm. Second having the battery toward the front really helps with the jumping and going though S'" turns on a tight small indoor track !

And getting on the brakes earlyier off a straightaway into a 180 turn seems to help big time with pushing out of the turn.
Which was causing me big issues braking later into that turn with pushing out to much.

And its faster to let the truck point and shot of a tight 180 turn i know that depends on the setup.

Tried using no sway bar up Front i dint like it with lighter shock oil at least to much roll.

Oh well my indoor track 4x4 SC is the biggest class even know the track is small but its a flowing fast layout.

The only thing i need to do with my truck on it is a thicker Rear swaybar to take some grip out on the Rear end and stiffer Front springs like the Black ones. To take some oversteer away and steering in the 180 turn since i moved the battery toward the Front.

Moving the battery Forward really seems to make the truck quicker on a tight small track.

Tires seem ok im using Soft Holeshots on the Rear and SC10 tires Up front.
